Lubabalo Kondlo faced off against Matteo Bernini for the Unrestricted World Checkers Championship earlier this year, and Bernini emerged victorious by wining the match 3-0-19 to become the new champion. In a previous video about this match, I analyzed the Switcher defense that Bernini used a number of times. In today's video, I walkthrough his first win of the match: Game 4, using the Old 14th opening. Bernini used a slightly uncommon variation with 3-8 on his seventh move, instead of the usual 9-14. Kondlo later played a natural sequence which ended up losing. It's a highly instructive variation and one I think will gain in popularity thanks in large part to this match.
