I don't usually comment on review videos, but I've only seen one other as comprehensive and articulate as this (not to mention the very obviously and absolutely fantastic well-designed pedal). Accolades to Shawn Tubbs for taking the time with his excellent playing skills and well offered presentation (you'd be dynamite in any sales position with a product you believed in). And, speaking of 'articulate,' the pedal in this video may be the best of its kind that I've come across in any review. I'm gonna get one (and, *I'm n-o-t into pedals - not at all!*). Thanks so much for taking the time to provide such a really great review and demonstration...! ⚡👍⚡😀⚡👍⚡

I'm late to the G3 party, I'm all-in now and it's great. Thanks for a great video. I consider this my reference for G3 settings. I've been at this for many years and many pedals (don't get me started on my guitar and amp fetish), but I find this pedal to be a game changer. I am knocking three pedals off my board with this one! Thanks for helping me out *after I got it! Edit: Terrific playing too!
@@RevvAmps hi I just got the REVV G3 i want to know how can i decrease the hiss noise on the background on higher gain settings? Is there a trimpot inside that i can adjust to get minimal noise floor hiss? Thanks
@RevvAmps

FLIPAX LEGATO Hey dude! It depends on a ton of factors. Can be hard to diagnose long distance. Normally noise in a pedal is due to unclean or non-isolated power. Also different amps can be noisier in the front end, especially when using a lot of gain (there is a lot on tap in the pedal, I never really use more than half). It also depends on your standards for hum - you may just need a gate if you want totally silent operation for high gain. So overall 1) power and 2) isolation are normally the culprits in pedal noise but also 3) very high gain settings will introduce a little noise depending on the amp and 4) you may just need a gate depending on your tonal preferences.

Amazing job from a phenomenal player. I have this pedal and I highly recommend it. Most other distortion pedals I have, and I have many, don't track as well as the G3. Really like having an extra very versatile drive channel to your amp. Very versatile active eq. Love the bass eq; never gets muddy. Very professional sound. This baby will never leave my board. Great job Revv!

Shawn I have so much respect for you. When playing for someone you stay in the background. I used to have to take a Marshall head with me with a treble booster. That’s all there was. But with your own band you can open up and play how you feel. That’s why I have much respect for you. A lot of people dont realize that!!!!

Far out, this has to be one of the best high-gain OD/Distortion pedals around. I'm not really a distortion guy, more boost/OD/Fuzz but if I needed a new High-Gain OD/Distortion pedal, I'd grab this in a heartbeat. The G2 is also a winner. G4...not my thing.

Did NOT expect that much gain right off the bat... maybe I’d prefer the G2...? Thanks T - Oops, those knobs play light tricks, the gain was up pretty high to start with, lol.
@ShawnTubbs

Yeah, I started with the gain just past 12 o'clock. I actually prefer the G2 myself because though it's capable of more gain than you'd expect, it's less aggressive and more open. The G3 has compression and tightness to it which is killer for high gain solos and rhythm playing. It's to each his or her own.

Great demo as always. Pedal sounds great, but I think I am going spend the next month figuring out what you played at the top! It’s like Steve Lukather sat in on a Steely Dan track after lunch with Joe Diorio. Love the mids on this pedal. Can still have a bright, spanky, clean and kick in a fat crunch or lead. Also most importantly the pedal seems to have a unique high gain voicing. I have to give Revv a lot of credit for that. A lot of high gain sounds can get very homogeneous. Not this one.

Another? Only 12k subs and it gets in my 'recommended' stuff? Oh well, already playing. Wait...it sounds real good! How come the last 4 or 5 'big time youtubers' I watched demo this all managed to make it sound sort of crappy? I'm not sure, so I listened to some other stuff you've done. You have that Johan Segeborn/Peter Honoré problem...everything you play sounds good! Don't need another pedal...or I need a dozen...not sure...LOL! (edit: 12k +1)

So, with the Tilt boost, the G2, and this, that should cover all my OD/Distortion sounds. I have a Katana 100 head, so it can be annoying to try and get a nice saturated distortion tone..This should do the trick. Thanks, Shawn! As usual, great demo.
@ShawnTubbs

I think you'll find that you can get quite a bit out of that setup for sure. The Tilt Boost into the G2 sounds really great. The G3 is more aggressive and tight-sounding and of course, has gobs of gain.

Definitely better than the Uberschall pedal, highs not as shrill. I don’t agree it being able to clean boost, dirty boost maybe. Got it in trade with my Uberschall. Yes, that’s what I told myself, react like a tube amp with guitars volume. Not transparent but for this purpose that’s what you want for a major shift toward a huge lead sound. Always tight and articulate.

This pedal is a great pedal. It's EQ is extremely touchy and it's one of those EQ's where all three work off each other. One annoying thing about this pedal is switching from your clean to the distortion on this pedal. It has this weird fade in effect where the volume doesn't start at the set volume right off the bat and kind of fades into it. It's seriously annoying. Other than this the pedal is great!
