About to watch, a list of things im halfway expecting: 1. Satanic Warmaster's history of riff borrowing. 2. Werwolf being huge into gaming. (SW on twitch? id watch him play elden ring) 3. The infamous picture of Werwolf in bed with a bunch of guys. 4. "Satanic Warhamster" and all the other shenanigans that happened back on FMP forums. Edit: Hot damn, im only 2 minutes in and youre already going into some of it LOL. Damn this guy is good. He knows his stuff.

Ah yes the great finnish riff borrower :D i've always digged the primitive but semi-melodic style, it is perfect for scratching that primal bm kult itch. But they are stuck in the past with next to none inovation in their sound so the itch gets scratched fairly quickly.
@radiofreeinnsmouth1337

The last one he did was a little more innovative, but they're definitely more of an itch-scratcher than a trailblazer for sure. I do really enjoy Goatmoon and Infamous though, and they probably wouldn't be around without Satanic Warmaster.

I really love your channel. But could you do a video explaining more in depth your hatred for krieg. Imo blue miasma and rise of the imperial hords are great records. But I'm always happy to hear people's opinions. Just finding hard to find this hatred anywhere else on the Web. I'm sure it's out there though
@radiofreeinnsmouth1337
4 жыл бұрын
Blue Miasma is probably the only one I can stand. The rest of it just sounds like random noise. I think I'm extra grumpy because I had Destruction Ritual for years and just assumed it was a classic that I didn't understand because everyone said it was. When I got into writing my own stuff, I listened to it again years later and I was just like these riffs don't match what the drums are doing and he's always yelling and I felt dumb for just assuming it was good. That was like a big confidence thing for me. Also, the N.I.L. project just seemed really pretentious and kind of a prelude to a lot of the terrible blackgaze stuff, and I didn't like that he used to have this super evil hardcore black metal persona and later started talking about feminism or whatever when that got big, it just seemed hokey. Admittedly it's all rather petty on my part.

@@radiofreeinnsmouth1337 thanks for the response. After reading your explanation I can totally see where your coming from. Everyone is free to there own opinion. Can't hate you for that. Off topic but kinda Leviathan related: What is your opinion on Xasthur?
@radiofreeinnsmouth1337
4 жыл бұрын
I actually like some of the Xasthur stuff quite a bit, like the first two, Telepathic with the Deceased, and whichever one has Prison of Mirrors on it. I can't listen to it too much, though. It gets kind of overwhelmingly depressing after a while, which I guess is the point. Also, I feel like there's a few too many albums with not quite enough substance to spread across all of it, but overall I'd much rather listen to Xasthur than a lot of the stuff that's bigger nowadays. Might just be a nostalgic thing though, since I was getting into black metal during the Xasthur/Leviathan heyday.
@tylercraig5633

Radio Free Innsmouth Totally agree! His riffs especially on the Bloodstained Mirrors demo and Telepathic With The Deceased are some of my all time favorite DSBM releases. That demo is super hypnotic sounding which is why I love it so much. Sure he can sound like too much of a Burzum clone at times but very high quality early output.

Wtf bruh your gonna have to elaborate...i know about ash/kanwulf shenanigans but who or what you associate with who is what i don't understand. Have plenty.of Finnish friends and we dont know what your talking about. Otherwise love the show. I think satanic warmaster sounds differently than first wave finnish black metal is lauri was listening to a lot of german black metal from 90s. The strong melodies come.from the strong oi melodies of german.black metal. Then that ironically became known as the typical melodic Finnish black metal sound ironically..or not

I did mention Absurd and Moonblood as influences. Akhenaten was in Weltmacht with the Krieg people and he played guitar on The Black House, and Werwolf played guitar on Blue Miasma. Akhenaten also did live stuff with Nargaroth. They're all sort of vaguely connected which left me hesitant to listen to stuff like Judas Iscariot or Satanic Warmaster because Krieg sucks so much and Ash is such a wiener.
