The boot tour was a definite highlight 😅 There's a dog.... haven't got a dog... The park run looked like it wanted trail shoes. You did well staying upright though.

ha thank you Mark. What perhaps wasn't clear was that his boot had got stuck closed for some time so he couldn't clear it out, plus he'd bought that toilet seat because he'd broken a clients by standing on it (he's a painter & decorator), but then it didn't fit! Yes a lot of that parkrun was on soggy grass so I realise I lost so much energy - perhaps I will purchase a budget trail shoe. What does an ultramarathon veteran like yourself recommend? x

@@TheRichKeeble ah, right. The context for the boot story makes it all clear. As an ultra marathon veteran of one race 😁 who is always on a tight budget, I'm not sure I'm the best man for the job when it comes to shoe recommendations. The Hoka Speedgoat 5 worked for me, but they're quite highly cushioned, so more for longer distances. I've heard good things about Inov8 Parkclaw for running on mixed terrain but I don't own a pair. Maybe just sit at the finish line of the next muddy park run you go to and survey the top 10 finishers! 😄👍🏻

I've a picture of you three jokers taking selfies whilst I struggled to get over the finish line yesterday. If I knew how to post, it I would! Hilly as fuck, that it was!

haha oh that would be great to see. Oof I'll tell you I nearly walked on that last hill. Are you a regular there? x

I nearly did too! No, we're tourists from Hertfordshire just came down to Sussex to get "East" for the 'Compass' challenge. We've down the A-Z and now just spreading our wings further afield. Have you down Church Mead? That is tough. Really enjoyed your video!

Thanks for doing that, so that I don’t have to. Dogs, wet feet, demented parents pushing kids in buggies. Perhaps next time you could ask the kids how they feel about it ? Probably no need to pixelate Dale’s license plate. I know anything not nailed down gets nicked nowadays, but Scrabble, a toilet seat , a tennis racquet and a box of cat food, is kinda niche.

@@MrAwol37oh wow well done! Do you feature in the video then during the briefing? We haven't done Church Mead but I'll look it up. This was the furthest afield we've done so far. Nonsuch is our nearest. Thinking of Eastbourne for another E at some point...

@@gloriab7801 haha well I'm glad I saved you the trouble! I do prefer a flat paved one if I'm honest but I'm glad we did it and I need to do more hill training so there we go! And we like niche here! x

Please don't climb on me (I'm very old). Surprised that sign has remained in situ and not disappeared and been repurposed.

I do enjoy hanging out with those two. Dogs... not so much. I'm a little bit scared of them between you and me! x
