Because in the mountains years ago, music was a part of who you are. Bluegrass players are some of the top musicians in the world. Like Ricky, they start when they are 3-4 years old. Before there was radio or even electricity, there was music. Especially in the South. I have not lived this first hand, but second hand from my parents. This was a part of their life in the mountains of Virginia.

My wife and I listen regularly to Bluegrass both at home and long drives. There are two things that will make us quickly change channel, too much fiddle and what we call "Bumblebee Bluegrass"! This show of huge tallent falls into the second description. Give us a good beat but with feeling and meaning please. IT ISN'T A RACE!

Buncha hot pickers, fer sure, and all super nice guys. There ain't enough money in bluegrass for them to get all high and mighty. Jason Carter (the younger fiddler from 0:56-1:05)and those McCoury boys are about as nice of fellers you'll ever meet. And when it comes to Bryan Sutton, the best two words to describe his playing are: Holy Shit!!
