Love it. I am building this plane now. My only complaint so far is that the servo control arms have non adjustable Z bends on both ends. This requires a perfect control arm length and neutral control surface centering from the get go. I guess this is to save weight but to me it makes more sense to have some type of adjustable linkage.
@TwoBrosRC
Жыл бұрын
It doesn't have to be perfect. We used sub-trim to get ours to line up. This plane can't use 150% rates if you're working with the CF servo arms that PA provides, so you've got at least 25 units of travel on both ends to work with for trim purposes. Adjustable linkages would be great though!
@DS-ql3ou

You are correct about not being able to use 150% travel. My left ailerons throw is around 50% up an down at 100% travel!

Couldn’t agree more - I’ve had the v2 and now a v3…just a blast to fly. I prefer the smaller version for ease of transport…the bigger addiction is a blast also

Hi Jon, I know you know your way around servos so I think you can help me please.? I've just got a timber Evo but am running an elrs receiver, it wants to know what Hz to output on the servos, I've looked on spektrum site for the plane/replacement servos for information but it doesn't specify. What would you advise please? Oh and they are stock servos. Thanks v much 👍

Hey Jon, you mentioned in the takeoff section about a longer takeoff roll. Have you tried taking off with the ailerons configured as flaps. I have a twisted crack yak 55XL, and I put in about 15 degrees for takeoff. Punch the throttle and it lifts right into the air. Maybe try this next time you fly?@@TwoBrosRC

They do help a bit, but since it's full span flaps, it runs the risk of asymmetrical stalling. Not a huge issue but something to be aware of.

Awesome looking 3s 3D plane . Michael Wargo is the man when it comes to 3D flying . Off the hook precision. Although it’s a beautiful plane the price is definitely up there as most stick builds compared to foamies.

Their airplanes are very excellent, albeit made for a very specific type of flying. I have one of the old Katana MDs and I put a spring latch in my canopy that I got from an ill fated Freewing F 18!

It comes mostly assembled, you just have to epoxy control horns, build the control pushrods, epoxy the motor box, install the motor/ESC, install servos, and that's about it.

The canopy can be modded with a servo arm and a screw - but is definitely still an issue. The receiver can be mounted under one of the trays. There's plenty of space if you look at it differently than usual.
