Ugh- I was just having this SAME exact thought. Down to the number. I was thinking that a good 2 months would be great. I am so happy because I just got a job offer from a company that I previously spent 7 years at and they informed me that after the new year rolls over, they will put me back to the amount of Time Off that I owned BEFORE I previously left the company. So I am already thinking of planning a big trip to Japan perhaps in early 2025 or at least February of 2025. I will have enough PTO.

Your subway system is immaculate! Here in NYC some parts of our subway are over 100 years old. We have people who dont care about each other. They are disrespectful and crude. We also have lots of crime in the subway.
@lars7935
9 ай бұрын
Tokyo started having metro lines in the 1920s. London started having them in the 1870s. Age of the system is not a factor. The NYC subway has been neglected for the past 70 years. Of course it's shit (for the population size it's serving).
@roncaruso931
9 ай бұрын
@lars7935 No kidding. Great Britain was the first to have an electrified subway. NYC was next. The NYC subeay is the largest in the world. It has multi level tunnels! These were built in the 1930's and 1930's. Yes, people are slovs in NYC. Pigs. That's why the system is a mess.
@lars7935
9 ай бұрын
@@roncaruso931 Counting the largest system is extremely difficult. Yes NYC has technically to longest track and most stations. That however doesn't account for through running trains and the multitude of other rapid transit operators in Tokyo. Nor has NYC the highest ridership. Not by far even. It's all about funding and staffing. Staff it what keeps public transit clean elsewhere not some kind of superior spirit of the people. And if you think multi level tunnels make NYC special I got some news for you...
@roncaruso931
9 ай бұрын
@lars7935 OK. Show me some multi level tunnels. NYC engineers built them in the 20's . Amazing engineering for the time. NYC has the largest subway system in the world. Period.
@lars7935
9 ай бұрын
@@roncaruso931 There's nothing special about multi level tunnels. My city has them in the underground system and so do many (inlcuding London on some of the oldest lines). NYC subway is only the longest because it was incorporated into one operator. Many cities have larger rapid transit systems. It's just that they are split into multiple operators. Nothing special there. I get that you want to feel special. In that case I would suggest you focus on 24/7 operations which are not unique but fairly rare. Oh and also badly underfunded mainteance, shitty service patterns and underinvestments so massive you had whole tunnels unused because you couldn't afford to run trains through them for half a century.

I love the experience here on these cable cars that you shared with us. In case no one mentioned it already the pokemon you have is a Munchlax, which is the cute baby form of Snorlax. It's perfectly paired with it's pokefood bowl. I also noticed that the Kirameger super sentai opening was playing in the background during your cycling monorail somewhere around the 18 minute to 20 minute mark. Some of the best music I listen to is from Super Sentai and Kamen rider Series, and I order them directly from a company called CD Japan (also known as Neowing) who ships them from Japan to the USA for me. I am building up my cd collection. Thanks again for this video.

It’s also possible that those trains were originally designed in the 1980s as a concept design but never saw the light of day until a few years ago when they revised the design for modern standards and actually went ahead with building it! :)

20:27 Beautiful views! Sadly those aren't clouds hanging low in the city, it is smog (smoke + fog) produced by all the vehicle emissions - it is pollution not clouds :( - notice it is only in the city and not near the forests or mountains.

I seriously love those elevated guideways. The sights are absolutely stunning. They are also less pricy to build than tunnels. In Montreal, a group of NIMBY recently managed to get a metro project on an elevated guideway canceled. While the rest of the world continues to build transit, North America continues to lag behind. I really hope that things change soon. There is no reason not to build elevated guideways on a 6 lane stroad that is by definition some of the worse type of infrastructure that we have. If anything, it would drive change and likely end up improving the built up environment. 20:40 I cannot see any trees in that concrete mass. I guess that's one thing about Montreal that I absolutely love. Trees are omnipresent just about everywhere in the city.

these new metro cars looking good. single-passenger seats is very nice idea. but, honestly, in my opinion, newest cars in moscow metro(81-775 series "moskow 2020") looking much more modern then "series 400" train.
