12 kilos! That's the future for EMTBs, I reckon. Get it as light as a regular MTB, but with power options. I can't wait.

If that’s the evo it does not weigh 12kgs as I have the creo sl expert and that weighs 12.7 I think the eco is 13.5kg. Still much lighter than a mountain bike though!

I live we’re it’s almost 50% dirt roads and mountain climbs. I love the idea of the freedom to ride anywhere I want with the climbing assist. My 110lbs tire pressure on my road bike is flat out dangerous on dirt roads.

I'd get the Creo SL but as a road bike - great for that. A Gravel bike makes sense on those long epic road rides that involve fire roads. But it is just that, a road bike that can handle gravel. I'd never buy it with the intent of riding single track - have an MTB for that. That being said I am contemplating getting the Creo SL to replace my dusty road bike sitting in the shed. You should do a clip/video on how great this thing is on the road: takes the hassle out of climbing and still bombs like a race/endurance bike. Finally wear whatever makes you comfortable - on the road that's lycra for me.

I've been riding my drop bar eBikes for the last 3 years on any single track that presents itself during a ride. I started out in 1980 on a rigid mtb and it makes me laugh every time. Difference is I like a 40-45c and I use a 1000w peak DD front hub motor. Riding rigid is a skill and in fact my mid drive eMTB is a hardtail mullet with a 80mm travel fork as well as I just built up a full rigid MD 29"er, both steel framed. Yup, I'm that out of touch with modern tech.

In the US these creos are road bike replacements. Bail out people of different skills or fitness levels to ride together, And they allow for a longer rides. If I was in Europe and had one with a 15 mph limit I'd have to hack it so it could go 28. I get the need to limit e-bike speeds, but it seems really dumb to limit e-bike assistance to speeds well BELOW the top speed you can ride a regular bike.

Bikes are like a bit like music, there are quite a few genres and sub-genres and you as an individual obviously find out and choose what you like and don't like. We just wanted to show people what gravel bikes are about from an off-road perspective. These bikes are really practical for a range of uses! Adventures, commuting, great for bumpy roads, great at bringing the road and MTB community together. Great at showing road riders that off-road riding is more fun.. 😉

Why would anyone ride a mtb track with a roadbike? Handlebars, seatingpostion and no suspension in the front are 3 reasons against it. I'll stick to my focus raven, it only weights about 16kg anyway but it's a proper hardtail mtb^^

@embn

Most road/gravel bikes have short droppers on them. Nothing stopping the rider from swapping it out to something with a little more travel. We have also seen people whip out the ratchet on drop levers to act as a dropper lever. It's cool to see roadies being introduced to them though! Starting to see them on more and more gravel bikes 😎

4 жыл бұрын
I don't like this idea of gravel bikes. I have a proper old fashioned road bike, the design fits perfectly for the paved road and blasting even w/o el. support. I like much better a good old traditional trekking bike with wider tires and el. support, wide handlebars, proper front suspension. Much better bikes for all what el. gravel bikes are supposed to do.

We think it's still important to keep an open mind and try out different bikes if you get the chance. Different genres of bike provide different experience, and people get different enjoyment from different bikes for different reasons. We think it's cool there are so many options these days! You may like it, you may not 🤷♂️

@embn

No, we don't really have an upload limit. We have let shows run as long as 45 minutes in the past (but this is pretty long and anything over half an hour can be quite intimidating to a new-viewer.) We think around 20/25 minutes is a good amount of time, and still long enough to have some substance. What you think?
