The track does not exceed a 3% climb anywhere on the route between Willits & Ft. Brag. ( I backpacked it in the mid 70's as a teenager end to end.) It would be well worth the ride. Bummer hearing about the tunnel collapsing again. Wen I went through I had to climb over the hill as the track crew was busy digging out a boxcar the was a "bit too wide"& that had got stuck & collapsed the tunnel at the west end near Pudding creek.

So very sad that the tunnel failed and you cannot go all the way to Willits. We went on the Skunk Train - Steam from Fort Bragg to the half-way point. Ate a picnic lunch at the halfway and then took the “SKUNK” train on to Willits. Looked around Willits and then took the SKUNK back to the half-way and then the steam back Fort Bragg. It was an all day event but oh so much fun! We went online and read about the tunnel fail. This makes me very sad. :’(. I do like the idea of riding one of those “Bikes” on the train tracks though!

now to make a really cool video would be to hoock a long rope on a passing train and let it tow a trail bike but five times the speed is it too much to handle , speed wobble, could it be designed for it , maybe rubber in rope for easy start , risk of stepping into rope loop , helmet , armour , ejection seat, parachute , airbags for falling to side, paddings or air filled , even a safety cage or shell, but detachable from bike. how about a giant ball rolling o the tracks , pulled by train. ball of branches or plastic or rods pipes. and guy inside. or like could use an old car pulled behind w normal wheels on side of trracks or no rubber and iron wheels on track , but rubber coating inside them. or rope and parachute fly benind train. any of those ideas can be very dangerous but some might be rather safe maybe if well designed and done. some choose some danger risk for fun, its popular on youtube like skydiving . uy

I was so excited to see that you have a video with the rail bikes. And what do you do? Add background music and destroys the experience. Why not let us hear the nature sounds, birds, wind in the trees, maybe a brook, and of course the bike wheels on the rails? Stop adding background music and keep the original sounds.
