Apparently John had George Martin over for a meal at the dakota talking about the "old days" and John said something along the lines of if he had his way, he would record all of his compositions again. George, taken aback, asked "even strawberry fields? John replied: even strawberry fields! Seems John wasn't too fond of the" treatment" given to some of his compositions.

If you watch closely, you'll see that he was hanging from the tree, making the fall a lot shorter, they reversed it, and then cut to a take of him mimicking a landing, in a different, closer to the ground part of the tree

I love Ringo. He was great at the height of Beatlemania and he’s great today. I think he maybe only wrote two Beatle songs, but his contribution to “The Beatles” is immeasurable. So much of the group’s personality and likability is thanks to Ringo.

I vividly remember the moment I first heard "Strawberry Fields". I was kneeling on the floor in our sitting room lighting the fire, that was my job when I got home from school, and my jaw dropped. It was the most incredible music I had ever heard. February 1967, I think it was. Seems like yesterday.

Great song. I was there as a 15 year old kid in LA. Shortly after, all kinds of bands appeared like the "Doors", Grateful Dead, Hendrix and then "Led Zeppelin". Please God, can I do it all again????

Ringo doesn't look at all his age whatsoever. Strawberry fields was just about the very first music concept short film clip, the first music video if u will, long before MTV, but didn't early MTV follow this format. So it could be said the Beatles created music television as well. The piano is so iconic, and Paul could leg squat 700 lbs back then, of course he can jump up trees... Great video, yes that circular camera effect, you and George, like old men watching the world, it had an effect value. I paused in a city square one time in Colorado, young gal painting many pianos similar to the video, i said, oh Strawberry Fields eh? She looked puzzled, I said you know, Beatles video, what's that, Rock and roll, well what's that she says, OMG, it is getting on, almost 2021, generation gap, I filled her in, I bet she looked it up and was amazed, I hope so.

They did Paperback Writer and Rain on film first. I think it may have been as they'd stopped touring they sent the films to studios instead of them being there.

For me it's Something. Like seriously, he melts the drums in and out of Paul's bass line on that track. It's almost like he's plays melody with the drums. Like seriously, how do you make drums melt? Brilliant. And then my second fave is Rain... but this up there too. Gotta love a drummer that plays the drums with such artistry and passion driving the melody on like that.

Always great to hear Klaus' contributions mentioned. I once spent the day with Sir George and asked him how he felt about his reputation as 'The Fifth Beatle'... his answer was, "There were at least five 'fifth Beatles' - Brian, Mal, Klaus, Neil and myself; as well as Norman, Geoff, Ken and all those who spent ridiculous amounts of time with the boys. Our loyalty to each other was incredible."

I was 14 when Strawberry Fields Forever came out. It became my favorite recording at the time. After all these years it's my favorite of all time. The video shows the Beatles at peak of their cultural influence that sets the stage for the Summer of Love and Sgt. Pepper a few months later.

I was 12 when Strawberry Fields Forever came out. For me, the music sounded so different and new. It was way ahead of its time. I played my drums with mallets, trying learn the drum parts. At that time I never realized there were multiple drum tracks. What Ringo did is brilliant.

I set her up with my Beatle CD's. She came to me a few days later saying "I'm going to MARRY John Lennon", and I had to say, "Um...Honey...."

Ringo is funny as hell. I saw him in Melbourne FL at the King Center. He was with his All Star Band which I think had Edgar Winter, Sheila E, and a bunch more. The concert was ready to start and for a sec it was quiet and then you hear a door slam shut in the back and a couple come waltzing in and Ringo just looks at his watch and says.. Can I start the show now? Your 5 mins late. Then he laughed and said he was kidding and thanked them for coming. Such a class act but the guy is naturally funny as hell. Was such a great night.

In Dec. of 1979, I was working as a busboy at a Denny's in South Lake Tahoe, CA. Ringo, who I think was on vacation at the time.....happened to stop in for lunch one afternoon. He accidentally locked his keys in his rented Chevy Blazer, and the cook & I were out there in the snow-covered parking lot with a wire hanger.....helping him to break into it. I remember keeping his fork, while some of the waitresses kept his other dishes. He had our 'fish & chips'. A cool dude...& a surreal memory.
