I wish there were more videos with tutorials. I am literally just playing with the brushes to figure out how to get the riso effects, because the videos that came with the purchase are just like this one.

Playing around with the brushes is a great way to learn how to use them and figure out how they work for you. We have a tutorial on best practices for using new tools. www.retrosupply.co/blogs/retrosupply-blog/new-art-supplies In general though, the Riso brushes work like watercolor or markers. Pick 1-3 colors and pay more attention to value than to hue.

You guys need a more detailed video with a more complex illustration. The demo videos in the pack are too simplistic. The nitty gritty and problems start happening when you’re working on a piece with a lot of parts and forms overlaying each other.

Hi Sade, could you shoot us an email at support@retrosupply.co with the problems you're facing? We'll be happy to help. The example images are meant to show off the textures and different brushes, but we're happy to assist with any detail or technical questions.

I totally agree, it's more messy with complex illustrations.

these brushes are great i have used them for my illustrations. there is another one on your website i was wondering about, how do i use the Risograph Print Pack for Photoshop? are they used in the same way as the brushes or are do they do on photos? thank you
@RetroSupply

That's great to hear you're enjoying them! The Print Pack is going to give you the same textures/effect, but it's applied differently. It's better suited for photographers, graphic designers, or artists wanting to apply the effect more quickly. The brushes give you more control over the end result and are primarily geared toward illustrators.

Hi, I would like to know if the effect in 02:00 - before he starts painting - , is obtained with the brushes and in that case, which one did they use? I think it would be good some video, I'm hesitating about the purchase and I can't find any video of somebody using them.

Hey there! Sorry for the late reply. This video is only 1 minute long. Could you specify the effect you're referring to? All effects in this video were achieved with the Risograph pack. No trickery or movie magic!

dumb question but, can you do this effect with an image on procreate? or is it only for drawing?
@RetroSupply

That's not a dumb question at all! There is a way to use the brushes on a photo in Procreate. We have a tutorial on our Instagram demonstrating this. You can also get the Risograph Print Pack which was designed with photographs in mind.

Alright, but how do you use this brush? Because I can't make a smooth filling in one stroke, and I can't do it in more than one stroke either because then I get that annoying multiply effect
@RetroSupply
10 ай бұрын
If you refer to the user guide, there are instructions for how to best use the brushes. The multiplying and offsetting effects are intentional features to more authentically mimic the way that Risograph printing works in real life. We know it can have a bit of a learning curve, but we suggest using Method 03 to start until you get more used to other ways of using the brushes.

I'm literally trying to figure this out spent 2 hours trying to find out how to install the brush set of the risograph and it's not in the download file. And all the icons are grayed out not letting me open it. It's quite frustrating to try and figure out how to use it. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I have no idea

Allright I finnaly got how to install it. It was my fault I was thinking the paper texture zip file was the brush file and trying to open it like if I was clicking to add a brush.

We are a small business of industry professionals who spent many months connecting with artists and printers all around the world to make the most comprehensive and realistic Risograph pack on the market. We think the pack is well worth the price we set it at, but we understand that it won't be accessible to some artists. There are packs that are suitable for all price ranges by other companies. We even put together a list comparing them so you can be informed before you buy. www.retrosupply.co/blogs/retrosupply-blog/best-risograph-procreate-brush-set

Hello! I have this for procreate I’m not sure how to get that offset look any advice please🫶🏼
@RetroSupply
Жыл бұрын
You can get the offset look by selecting the layer you'd like to be offset and then tapping the move tool. You can create a large offset by moving the layer freely, or a slight offset by tapping just outside the border of the layer in the direction you want it to go. Each tap moves the layer in small increments. Hope that helps!
