I loved this review, very professional, You went in depth on all the little details that automotive channels didn't cover.

Nice job on the video content, though consider picking up the pace some on the narration. With regards to the Rivian starting prices, FYI that RJ Scaringe, Rivian CEO, at the beginning of the year announced that the $69k price for the R1T will be for the mid level (135 kWh BP) AND include the electrochromatic roof. Some have postulated each BP level will be about $9-10k. Factor in the $7500 federal tax credit and the cheapest R1T (105 kWh BP) could come in around as low as $52k. Plus, given this space is seeing more competition enter the market, some have said Rivian might still lower their prices even more. We should know soon as Rivian has stated the online vehicle configurator should become available this year by "late summer."

@@LunationLab - You're welcome. Back in Nov 2018, when Rivian revealed their R1 models at the LA Auto Show, a spec sheet was floating around the internet. Haven't seen an updated one but a few minor things have changed like the overall length for both models have increased by 1 to 2 inches. What hasn't changed (publicly) is the claimed mileage for each battery pack configuration available for each model. ............ R1T (pickup) | R1S (SUV) BP 105 kWh 130 kWh 180 kWh | 105 kWh 130 kWh 180 kWh Range 230+ mi 300+ mi 400+ mi | 240+ mi 310+ mi 410+ mi Since one of Rivian's mantras is "under promise, over deliver", there is speculation these ranges are conservative and will more than likely increase with the production model considering it will be nearly three years since their reveal. Rivian is targeting production launch of the R1T next June (2021) and the R1S two months later in Aug. If you're looking to get the R1T, I hope you have your pre-order submitted. It's estimated they have at least 40-50k pre-orders. Anybody pre-ordering now will AT LEAST have to wait two years if not longer to receive their EAV. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing as it gives them time to work out any production line kinks, and for some, more time to put money aside for their purchase. ;-)

Great video, the interior looks a lot like the new Airstream trailers. Also are those stereoscopic cameras around the rear-view on the windshield? Also the R1s does have more Land Cruiser vibes rather than Sequoia. Also how can you steal personnel, does Tesla own their employees?

I'm kind of disagreeing with you on the cybertruck approach. I think it actually IS looking to cross between the work and adventure market. It offers better ground clearance, it has levels for simplified "could make a good work location vehicle" especially if you add solar panels to it's bed cover, but then upgrades to make it what sounds to be quite capable off road. The design might not be as immediately attractive to the traditional truck owners but it's capability will be what matters, ultimately. BTW that Rivian front face is very UN appealing to me personally. I'm not saying I don't like it as a "lifestyle" vehicle but for me that front is ugly.

Depends on what you're getting. Mid or long-range R1Ts get built first. Then R1Ses start 2 months later. I think they start on low-range models when they run out of orders for mid to long.

It’s well designed. It looks like a truck. Wish it would be offered with a petroleum engine. Jeep Wrangler has the highest resale value of any vehicle. The worst resale value is electric vehicles. When I was 14 I wanted to save the planet and have a rabbit diesel. Then I got a diesel Smart cabriolet when I was 40. By far the biggest piece of shit lemon I’ve ever owned. 70 miles to the gallon. But it was marketed to feel good not be good. Your evaluation and value system of electric cars reminds me of myself when I was younger. Hopefully I wasn’t orgasming over this vehicle like you are. Design has come a very long way since the 80’s when I dreamt of saving the planet. I’ll be buying a gas powered Jeep Gladiator not a tech heavy 4 electric engine battery powered experiment that’s “saving the planet” marketing toy that might make you feel good but is a repair shops cash cow. This is a urban yuppie toy... plain and simple.
