You have a similar passion to me... that is the pleasure I get watching and listening to the greatest lead guitarist of all time...JEFF BECK. He makes anybody's group or individual artist sound great. And he still performs. (when covid subsides) Neil from Sydney Australia.

This was a surprise appearance by Sir Rod, it's a Curtis Mayfield song. Jeff is truly surprised

This is a cover of the song by Impressions featuring the great late Curtis Mayfiled recorded in I think 1965.

For some reason I do not know a lot about Jeff back, so I found this very interesting. I also think this is the first time I heard this secular song. Thanks guys

He was surprised because I believe this is a Jeff Beck concert and Rod Steward wasn't supposed to appear, hence the surprise.

Glad you’re reacting to Sir Rod Stewart been a fan since 1971 ❤️❤️ a suggestion to react to Say It’s Not True Roger Taylor with Jeff Beck a beautiful song written about a horrible disease x

I love this version by Jeff and Rod. I wish they could have stayed together. It would be interesting to see how Rod would have turned out if the Jeff Beck Group stayed together.

I’m dating myself but think this older than Jeff Beck. Just looked it up - Curtis Mayfield. This a good rendition although I have never been Rod Stewart fan.

Hello Hank and Sassy, I do like this song a lot , and Tal Wilkenfeld is an amazing bass player. Funny Hank I was thinking the same thing about Rod Stewart, love/hate... I really like Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton collaboration with Little Brown Bird...keep em' coming and consider the Woodstock Alvin Lee and Ten years After (Going home on a Helicopter )..Or even Joe Cocker and (With a little help from My/me Friends)..Hank will get the me reference. And Sassy, if Hank hasn't already seen my request from last week, maybe you can slip that one in. Thanks and hope to chat soon. PEACE

Great song and with both these guys it puts it over the top. Like many songs I think the studio version is the one to listen to but I know copyright on YT a live is easier to use though.

And a suggestion for a great guitar song (another power blues) : Fleetwood Mac- "Jumping At Shaddows", live in Boston. IMO, the best guitar solo nobody heard about

Let me suggest a song that's some sort of blues, but it isn't quite blues: Ry Cooder & V.M.Bhatt -"Ganges Delta Blues"(to clean the palate from all this rock :-) )
