Just to add to this if everything else fails. Use a 2 sided USB C cable and connect the TX and RX together and try again. Just worked for me

SOLUTION: Step 1: Press button 2 on receiver to navigate to the microphone that does not connect Step 2: Press and hold button 2 on receiver until wireless signal flashing Step 3: Press POWER ON button once on microphone/transmitter that was not connecting Repeat Same Process for the other transmitter/microphone If you press and hold button 2 more than 3 seconds on receiver it will happen again, avoid "hold pressing" button 2 for 3 seconds Boom Shakalaka :D

RIDICULOUSLY IMPORTANT!!! before you start pairing, make sure the RX is in MERGE mode and the SAFETY CHANNEL is ON! otherwise this will not work!

I had this issue as well and nothing worked. But I downloaded the rode app on my Mac book and found out my device was due for a firmware update. After the update they connected automatically.

Had the same problem. Here is my solution. If pairing fails: after activating paring from the receiver, the button on the selected transmitter also MUST BE PRESSED quickly once. That connects.

Here comes another one! Was totally fucked up. The first solution did not work for me, too. I had to press the On/ Off Button of the mic multiple times while the Wireless-Symbol on the receiver was blinking to get them connected again. THANKS SO MUCH!!! I LOVE YOU GUYS!

Ran into the same problems. I called RØDE Technical Support and they told me to reformat my received after... 1. Download the RØDE Central 2. Connect the transmitters and upgrade them (one at a time 3. After all three are updated… 4. Turn on the receiver 1st 5. Turn on the 1st transmitter (force the Receiver to pair with it) 6. Turn on the 2nd transmitter (force the Receiver to pair with it) NOPE, that did not work 7. Factor reset on the receiver unit 8. Waited four hours and tried to pair the transmitters back to the receiver - no luck! Now, I am going to have to reformat both transmitters and cross my fingers. Lesson learned - do NOT upgrade via the RŌDE Android app :( Thank you for the video 360MiX, I subscribed :)

My wife purchased the Rode Wireless GO II recently. It has been a disaster trying to get these stupid things to work. First she needed to get new chords in order for her to connect to her iphone 13 Pro and then she ran into the issue with the receivers not pairing. Thanks so much for the video and the suggestions. The instructions from the vendor are useless as you point out. Seem to have things working for now. :)

I had the same problem, I scoured youtube and followed the instructions carefully and the transmitters would not pair with the receiver, I got very frustrated and concerned I would have to return them, as they were a new purchase. So, in one last ditched effort I connected them to the Rode Central app on my laptop and all 3 units required a firmware update. Once the update was complete they paired, I switched all 3 units off and on again to check they were still paired and they were. What a headache, something so simple took up 45 minutes of my time, crazy and disappointing too! I just hope they don't unpair when I am out and about, as I have lost confidence in them already!

I had same problem pairing. My problem started after I did firmware update to the receiver. Stupid me, I didn't think about also doing firmware update to the transmitters as well. Once I realized they also needed to be updated to match the receiver, pairing was a breeze.

I found a fix. I had the same issue. Finally, here is what i did: 1. Turn off everything. 2. Turn on the rx and select the tx channel and hold the link button for three seconds. 3. Turn on the Tx and let it power up. Once the blue link light is flashing, press the power button once and let go. Paired! If it doesn't work, try again. You can also try leaving the Tx's on, then on the Rx hold the link button for three seconds to the corresponding Tx channel and then press the Tx power button once (and let go). It worked for me!

This just happened to me, the very day I'm posting this. The mic set up worked yesterday. Today the receiver does not receive any signal from a Wireless GO II. In fact, I noticed immediately something was wrong when I saw no bouncing levels indicator when I turned on a microphone. I've been messing around with the updated software. There's no way to get any additional information about the receiver. There's no diagnostics to use. How can this hardware be so delicate?

Hi creator friends! We just wanted to say, this may also happen IF your device is not updated! The solution you wonderfully shared did not work for us at first so we connected our device to the computer and opened Rode Central where our device was updated. Afterwards, they automatically paired! Whew! Hope this extra info helps! Thank you 360MIX! :)

I was able to pair my devices-- after updating all 3 pieces --My main goal is to teach an online zoom yoga class with my voice on one microphone and my music on another mic coming from my speaker. SO-my questions: what is the safety channel? Just wondering if I should leave it on or off. Also- Need it to be unmerged right? What audio settings do I need to make sure I have on or off or adjusted in certain ways.

Absolutely. I did bring my laptop for this very problem. My lav mic also didn't work with Rode, so trying to figure that out too. I've run a bunch of tests because I have an event. Other than these problems, which I hope to get solved prior to the event, the quality of the audio is great!!! Thanks for your video.

This was SO TRUE. The comments helped, but then they still wouldn’t pair. I wound up viewing another video saying the Go 2 firmware had to be upgraded before it would work! Yes! That did it!

Similar issue with a solution. I installed Rode Central, connected the receiver and accepted the firmware update. After doing so, the transmitter would no longer pair with the receivers. Plug the transmitters in and update the firmware via Rode Central. After updating receiver and transmitters to the same firmware version, the problem was resolved.

WORKAROUND IF NOTHING ELSE WORKED OUT: You must update all 3 devices to the same firmware version before trying to follow the described sync procedures, otherwise it won´t work out. If one of the TX fails, just conect the receiver to rode central by usb and try again to sync he falty device, it will be recognized imediatelly. Good luck you all!

I had a similar problem during a paid client shoot. I've just connected to Rode Central on my computer and it says there's an update needed. My guess is this is the issue but will check back once everything is up to date!

same same, that's the reason I am scouting the net. in my case, the whole set stopped pairing after software upgrading via computer. Rode app on the computer required that in order to communicate with android phone Set is brand new, used twice during unpacking and failed trials of pairing to the phone. that of course required a new purchase, - cable. third try- it does not pair

Update the receiver AND the transmitters with RODE Central. I bought this today and everything worked fine until I did an update on the receiver thinking this was all that needed the update.. They would not pair. I fiddled with them for hours in frustration. There were no instruction for performing the update. As a last ditch effort, I plugged in the transmitters and an update started for them too. Everything works great now.

I am having the same trouble with mine right now. I have powered them off, and the transmitters just don't connect. They worked perfectly for about six months, and then about two weeks ago an update was released and I upgraded. Ever since the September release, nope, the two transmitters won't pair with the receiver.

Still not working. I did the software update but lost pairing right afterwards. I went thru the pairing process above. Zip zero nada. Reconnected to Rode Central thinking the mic’s didn’t update but even Rode Central won’t see the mic’s (obviously cuz they’re not paired). Both channels are open (not in merge mode). I select and blink but no amount of clicking on the mic’s works. Single click. Double click. Even full boot of mic with RX is blinking. Zip

Both transmitters refused to pair for me today, whereas i've been able to follow the pairing or unpairing+pairing steps prior, they didn't work this time and none of the steps in the comments worked for me either. I had to open up the Rode Central app, click on the receiver, click the little gear in the top right to go to configuration, and then choose factory reset. Note that if you haven't opened the rode central app with your wireless go's yet, there will likely be a firmware update ready for the transmitters and receivers. If at all possible, do the firmware update with the units *directly connected to your USB ports*, ie: not through a USB hub. The app seems to crap its pants otherwise and a botched firmware update can brick your devices. If your laptop doesn't have enough ports (or you don't have enough usb c cables or adapters) i'd recommend finding a desktop computer with enough ports to connect all three at once.

Double-click the power/R0DE button on the bottom of the transmitter to switch from [mute/standby] to [transmit]. Maybe this will fix your problem, as it is not intuitive.

Yeah. I couldn’t even pair it with mine either. Absolute crap house experience with Rhode II AS well. There is some secret way - but seriously!!? What the hell is a company thinking if they don’t include all instructions in the instruction booklet. I’m only now thinking of returning to these after another crappy Rhode mic experience (some goofball talked me out of getting a yeti mic for a new those mic - and the experience has been just as terrible). Seriously Rhode - get yourself together and mic stuff easy for users to use. And I’ve done music audio and mic set ups for gigs and recording. Unimpressed as well.

@@myevolvinglife I feel your pain. I got a reply from Rode. First one was doing the standard procedure to manually pair (which I already told them I'd tried). Then it was send them video of what's going on (which is just both of my transmitters won't recognize the receiver or vice versa). Completely bricked. Guessing I need to send it in.

I initially updated the firmware of just the transmitter. Could not connect any of them trying everything that was said. Then I updated the firmware of individual transmitter and did the job. Hope it helps

Having problems with mine as we speak I used them 3 days ago and everything was good now my transmitter wont even turn off anymore and is not connected to either. Obviously I wasted time trying to set it up and I just ended using a regular lav mic instead.

This thing just died on me. the second transmitter just quitted out off nowhere. It doesn't turn on at all. The charging icon won't even light when you charging. Rode central up do detect and it shows me tp update but each time I click update it will just fail. Very disappointed and I bought it for wedding I'm shooting next weekend.

I had the same problem. The fix in the comments is not a fix, its just the way to pair them up. The problem is old firmware. I updated to the newest and worked flawless right away... However, I don't think this firmware was there when the video got posted/made, so I think we can disregard this for now. Just update and make sure it is the newest...

Also make sure that all your devices have been updated to the latest firmware and that you have the latest RODE Central app version on your laptop. I had one transmitter(chan 2) updated to a newer firmware than the receiver/trans(chan 1) and it wouldn't connect via wifi at all. That Chan 2 transmitter was updated via one laptop with a newer App version and when I went to access that transmitter via a different laptop I couldnt even access the device. It wouldn't come up on the Central App and wouldn't even let me reset it to factory settings. Another thing to keep aware of.

I had this same issue, thanks to the comments for the fix! I am having another problem, when in merged mode, the output from the transmitter is normal on the left channel but extremely quiet on the right channel. I did have it working fine at one point, but cant get it back to recording both channels evenly. Anyone else experiencing this?

My solution. Of course it should be explained somewhere on the RODE's website. Maybe it is and I didn't see it. 1. When you open the Rode app and connect the receiver to your computer it will ask to update the firmware if it needs it. If you just did the receiver and not the transmitters, they will not pair. 2. So after updating the receiver, disconnect it from your computer, leave the app open and then connect one of the transmitters (turn them off before you do), the Rode software will recognize the transmitter needs an update, so go ahead and update. 3. After it's completed, quit the Rode app, unplug the updated transmitter from the computer. 4. Open the Rode app again and connect the second transmitter (make sure it is off). Repeat the process and done. 5. After completion go ahead do the powering sequence for the receiver and transmitter and you are good to go. This is what happened to me and I discovered it by accident. On the Rode app when it's open in you computer and nothing is connected, it says "Please connect a RODE device to get started" so I assumed it was just the receiver that need to get connected or updated via computer. So I connected one of the transmitters and there it was... the app asked to update the transmitter as well. Problem solved!

I just had this issue on a wedding video. I had spent so long waiting for the bride to get her dress on that I barely had enough time to get her mic’d and get the other transmitter on the groom. I had both units on and assumed all I’d have to do is turn on the receiver and they’d connect as they were connecting before. I realized I wasn’t getting a connection from either one so I frantically pushed the pair button on the receiver and ran over to the groom to get his transmitter so I could push the button on his. Still no connection and by this time the music had already started and the ceremony was beginning. I ended up having to just unplug the receiver from my camera so I would have scratch audio. Unfortunately I also had the internal recording mode set to “backup” meaning that the backup recordings never started since they wouldn’t pair. If I had realized it was going to be an issue I would have set them to “always” 🤦🏻♂️

These Mics are unreliable. The most frequent problem is failure of the receiver to turn off, usually after failing to link with one or both transmitters. This is an issue of which Rode is aware. I have spoken with an engineer who works with Rode. He says many, many units are being returned with this problem. Updating sometimes provides a temp fix, but it's a hardware issue, so it will fail again. Do not use these on anything critical. I'm going to try for a refund as in a professional environment they are useless. Next step DJI.

Anyone here having problems with signal reception. I bought this mic setup a couple of days ago. When testing the mics, the connection with the receiver is lost or gets on/off as soon as I turn my back to the camera. I have the mics on my chest. This starts happening 10 or 15 meters away. The connection is reestablished as soon as I face the camera. I've seen reviews on KZitem where they walk away from the receiver and there's no problem even with the back to the camera. Would that be a problem of my set?

Hi Guys , i honestly first i honestly thank 360MIX for bringing this up , i was a victim yesterday in a wedding anniversary , i pressed a button by mistake and i lost the paring of one and got frustrated i removed the receiver from my Canon R5 and worked with DJ sound straight to the camera. i came back home trying to fix i also lost the pairing of the second TX , then i found this video and looked at the comment i tried what DUD STUDIO suggested saved my life i signals from both transmitters. Easy fix - hold right button on the receiver until the wifi signal flashes, then double press the button on the transmitter (make sure the transmitter is on and charged first, of course). Paired, just like magic : D

When Rode GO 2 do not Pairing: 1. Switch on the receiver. 2. Switch on the two microphones. 3, Press and hold the number two button "on the receiver" for three seconds until the Wifi icon starts flashing. 4. Then click button number two once and wait for the connection. 5. For the second microphone, repeat steps 3 and 4.

I tried it, doesn't work. Wifi icon flashes on each mic but doesn't connect. Before this connection lost my left audio was normal but right one wasn't in Merge-mode

SOLUTION: Step 1: Press button 2 on receiver to navigate to the microphone that does not connect Step 2: Press and hold button 2 on receiver until wireless signal flashing Step 3: Press POWER ON button once on microphone/transmitter that was not connecting Repeat Same Process for the other transmitter/microphone If you press and hold button 2 more than 3 seconds on receiver it will happen again, avoid "hold pressing" button 2 for 3 seconds Boom Shakalaka :D

@@WackoMaza1 RIDICULOUSLY IMPORTANT!!! before you start pairing, make sure the RX is in MERGE mode and the SAFETY CHANNEL is ON! otherwise this will not work!

My receiver won’t turn on…. If I connect to charge it it shows battery is full and it wont turn on… And I find nothing on it… no way to reset it maybe… nothing..

Had the same problem. Found out I hadn't updated firmware on all of them. Problem solved

NOT sure if you figured it out. make sure all 3 are up-to-date with software man. sometimes one failed with software update (showing lower version) but the rode central still saying it is up-to-date. then uninstall the rode central and download and install again. it will prompt the update on the one that not up-to-date.
