My mom had some of his albums and played them on our old record player...I absolutely loved it. His music is timeless! And I learned to whistle SO well!! But now I can't whistle anymore...it's so weird and sad and I miss it. 😭 Roger Whittaker is the whistle king! So happy to find this on you tube. I'm sitting here with my mother and I was playing her some of these songs. I was hoping it would help her remember those times. She's in the latter stages of dementia but she always loved music so much and had a lovely voice. I miss hearing her sing in the kitchen. Guess I'm missing lots of things these days. 🥺😬 Happy 2023 to everyone! 🎇 Love and blessings! ❤️

Old Roger himself said that the Kenyan men who worked for his father not only made his first guitar for him but also taught him how to whistle. Those mighty warriors the Zulus were also great whistlers as, once upon a time were our local postmen...maybe the postmen were descended from Zulus..or maybe not.

He’s Kenyan so I’m not surprised. When you live around the Maasai especially, you’ll learn that they use whistling to communicate with their cattle, and with each other in code. It may also be that he naturally has that ability. I’ve tried it all my life in vain but my brother whistles like a flute.

In my style, most People say to me , it is so near the original mexican whistler style, so his gimmic, was inpossible for him, to say , its verry close my wihistling, anyway, i was glad fore a letter from him spessily on his world tour, 1976, he is a real gentleman
