Hopefully in the future when components are cheaper and faster; we will get ACB back with more polyphony and whatnot. I find it sounds a little warmer than the zen core, and more alive.

Really glad to hear my TR-09 and SH-01A are based on ACB, as it seems to be the more pure and concise modelling of the hardware, bringing us closer to the real deal, then not.

@@caktalfraktal Can u imagine this? I put on the headset, and I'm in Capitol Recording Studios, with my choice of orchestra: New York Philharmonic, Nelson Riddle's Orchestra (complete with period wardrobe, lingo, and smoking), Spitfire, etc. Creating REAL orchestrations with 50 "musicians" (The A.I. doesn't have to be aggressive) I look forward to those discussions with the virtual Viola section!!

ACB seems like the better technology to recreate the past. Hopefully in the near future ACB2 can come with faster processors.

The real question I have heard no one ask is how they actually achieve ACB. Since they are modeling circuits down to the component level, I will assume they are using FPGAs. I want someone to crack open one of the Synths to see what brand FPGA and model they are using.

Not sure what Dustin is trying to explain at 09:06: TR-08 vs TR8-S. Sure, the TR8-S has a modern workflow, but they are both ACB based (=sound the same) while the TR8-S offers extras (samples, FM, effects, etc) on top of that.. The comparison with Plugout (ACB) vs ABM seems odd to me in relation to the TR-08 and TR8-S. Oh well.

In my opinion, ACB is a sort of ABM without the expansibility features.

Roland released loads of lacklustre vintage analogs for years while people dreamed of proper analog re-releases of the old classics. Then they released new virtual analogs with ACB technology that really silenced the nay-sayers! ACB is impressive. Now they are rolling back that impressive circuit level modeling for the old vintage analog sacrifice sound for polyphony and convenience trade-off. Sorry, what?

I wonder if they can get AI to scan what a synth is doing in any particular state and then copy it precisely.

So given the same processing power, ACB excels at recreating the sound of the analog predecessor, with little to no leftover processing power to provide advanced functionality or polyphony. ABM allocates less processing power to sound generation while providing more functionality and polyphony. It's just a matter of deciding how to allocate finite processing power.

In this sense the ACB was created to run on dedicated CPU, then it was ported to computers.

Is the integra supernatural a completely different software engine? I found that synth very useful and the synth engines very good for pads and bass, xv engine EP good & organs very good , stringed instruments ok as filler, however support fell off and the iPad app no longer works and windows editor stopped working making the integra useless in the studio. I replaced it with zen core pro and it handles anything I needed from the integra very well for a fraction of the price ,

i love roland systems,i still have a TB303,TR808,and a Juno 60 that i bought at the time (very expensive, and still is) but nowadays i do everything via plugins,i would have bought some of the roland vsti, however,i hate monthly subscriptions (roland cloud or everything cloud),thats why i dont use adobe apps anymore,i bought the V collection from arturia, wich is a one time buy,and you can buy extra instruments when they come out,or buy the new V collection (upgrade price from the one you had) i see subscription company's,as company's who have never enough money, and the price of their softsynths would surpass the price of hardware over time, subscription is crap, even after a certain time one vsti becomes yours
