I just got off a forum saying how "thin" this synth sounds. This demo shuts that down. Killer sounds, great demo!

Owning one, I can confirm it doesn‘t sound thin. Just one thing: it hasn‘t got the deep low end like the Juno 60 or 106 (got the 60 as well). Great 80s sound!

I really love that JX-3P sound. It's still one of my favorite synths. Great job on the programming. I've never programmed anything into mine yet. I usually just do the presets and tweak them until I find the sound I'm looking for. I really enjoy the Sync sounds. Great video and sounds. Your KZitem Friend, Sam.

From 0:30 mark sounds very Jupiter 8'ish. Sounds that you get with jupe, with 2 VCO's set to saw and filter all the way open. Very nice! Awesome demo! Sync sounds sound very JP8 too. Maybe my ears are deceiving :D Awesome demo in everyway!

I don't own a JP8, but I have a JX-3P too and, judging by the JP-8 demos I hear on the net or comparing to the Boutique JU-08, the JX-3P can indeed sound very similar to the JP-8 for some patches, especially when using the sawtooth oscillators. I believe the filter circuits are very similar. Of course the JX-3P has DCOs, so there's not much movement going on even when using its two oscillators together. So a good chorus is essential for many sounds. The built-in in one is great, but it's a one-trick pony, so I suggest trying out other external ones too.

JX Brass patches seem to be able to get a little more breathier sounding than the JP. JP8 has a warmer creamier bass. The JX3p is a great synth, especially for the money!

Thank you tiergrinder..... I did my best on the sync lead sound to get close, but it tends to sounds a little harsher than the JP8.... I created that sound on my Jupiter 6 and had a similar outcome...

Get the KIWI3P upgrade installed, then you can adjust the 3P's built in chorus to your hearts content. Plus the KIWI3P adds so many extra features to the JX3P and takes it to another level. Plus you get full SYSEX and CC control over MIDI.

You've pulled some amazing sounds from your JX-3P! Is it completely standard? If so, I'd love to hear what you could do with a KIWI3P upgraded 3P! My 3P has this upgrade and it really does open up this synth to do greater things.

You play about as good as I do! I need lessons. Been on my list for a while. I love the jx3p. I bought one when I was 16. Back then it was merely 13-15 years since its release and seemed so ancient. It's funny how things that are that old nowadays still feel recent/modern.

Have you ever heard the Rhodes/ARP Chroma? during a Starship concert in 1985 the keyboard player Gabe Katona had one on stage and it sounded so cool. The Chroma is very underrated but its also very rare like the Jupiter 8.
