holy guac n chips thats sick! I'm lookin at the tr8 and 2000xl to get into the same style of house production. I'm leaning towards the hardware mainly cause i get bored staring at a daw too long and im attracted to the more hands on approach. Ill have a sick sample i want to use and have no idea where to go with it lol. I have a 4 channel denon mc6000 that i dj on and run a technics 1200 for some vinyl spinz but im assuming id be able to run the outs on both pieces of hardware through my mixer similar to the outs to a mixer like the one you have? I'm pretty set on the tr-8 for those classic drum patterns as opposed to 2 separates like the boutique 08/09 but still contemplating the sample capabilities especially at my beginner stage of production that the 2000xl offers. but its so fkn sexy i want. Any advice would be great help thanks!

Just get them. You can still sell them for nearly as much afterwards.

Hawt damn that beat is jackin!! Love how the 909 on the tr-8 swings those hi hats! did you swing them on the MPC as well?
@KeepinSoul

In this video the MPC is sending only MIDI clock to the TR-8, so the swing on the drums is coming from the TR-8 only... Roland did a great job with this tr-8, not only it emulates the sound but also the swing of the 909 that I think is quite unique

Oh shit word? that swing does sound like the "authentic" 909. Thanks for the response !

There's a certain crunchiness to your drums that just sounds soo good, how do you achieve this sound? Specific mixer or compressor?

Looks like an Alesis 3630 at 0:37.

When you are using the 3630 compressor, are you using both compressor or only one ?
@KeepinSoul

I usually use both channels to sidechain 2 different elements. In this video I think I only used one
@Automatischroom

Dope. How do you make that sidechain on 2000xl?

Kick triggering the compression through the sidechain input, peak mode, zero attack, short release, 6:1 ratio

Thank's guys. I remembrer your video "How to make a French House" and she made me want to buy it (i'm french i don't if my sentence is correct). I think I will buy it to complete my 2000xl too. In any case your tracks always bounce.
