I just now discovered your videos. I’m impressed, and subscribed for all notifications. I plan to do a rolled hem on Christmas napkins…..double faced semi-circles with the rolled hem all the way around. The folding of the finished product makes the tree shape. I’m having trouble knowing how to turn the “corners”……from the top straight edge to the beginning of the curve, and vice versa. Hope that makes sense. Do you have any help for me on that please? I LOVE that you share scripture. God bless you. 💗

love this BUT my problem is that I am hemming cotton single fabric for a napkin and the hem looks beatiful but in some parts looks messy with fabric tiny balls showing....like when you tight your hair and you have small hairs showing ? and after washing looks even messier ...any tips?

That might mean that your cotton isn't wanting to roll completely. Did you lower your knife, or are you letting your knife cut? If it's cutting, and your hem is otherwise good, maybe try having your knife cut a bit farther away, giving more fabric to turn under. I would also play with the stitch length. Sometimes it works better if the stitches are either closer, or farther apart. So many factors can come into play! But my main guess is the resistance of your fabric to WANT to turn under....so giving it more to actually 'roll' might help. Conversely...if it absolutely refuses to turn, you might just do a 'narrow hem' on your serger rather than trying to roll it. Good luck and let me know if you find something that works!!!

@@SewDarnedFun mmm is cutting very little bc thats what I allowed it… will try this. I try stitch wide making it wider and is the same, very you pretty but messy and after wash worse . I am working with a stitch finger which allows me to make it wider … i know traditionally I shouldnt use the stitch finger for hemming … maybe that?

Make sure you follow the settings that your serger manual wants you to use. Try that and see if it helps :)
