Country, Rockabilly, Roots singer/musician Ronnie Mack is a driving force up and down the West Coast, and as far away as New York City. He hosted the celebrated Barn Dance for years, as well as celebrations of Elvis Presley's birthday and, of course, Rick Nelson's birthday. He knew Rick and had the privilege of being in the studio when Rick recorded "You Know What I Mean," the last released recording in his lifetime.
The interview, regrettably, is incomplete. It begins with Ronnie talking about filling in for Rick during a sound-check and scratch vocals for the record. Ronnie also knew Ricky Intveld and Pat Woodward, who perished with Rick in the plane crash, and reflects on how they came to join Rick's band.
Two guys with a similar experience of being influenced by Rick Nelson comparing notes.
