Thank Mark! Me too. It should mostly be a labor charge. I had them look at some other stuff while there at it too. Take it easy my friend!

That's farming gotta roll with the cards you get! And it's always something! Your doing better than me I could never keep a fencer going longer than it takes to walk back to the barn! Lol

Ha ha ha! I've had those days.. just can't find where it's grounding. Wait till night time and look for arks. Works every time!

The horse farm (Josh's Parents) is 8 acres also with a similar amount of it being pasture just likes yours. Pasture management is super important when we have 7 horses. Enjoyed watching this! Thanks for sharing!

Hey thanks! That barn is pretty amazing. We put a lot into it to get it right again. And yes, pasture management can make or break you. It's worth the effort for sure!

That's a shame about the tractor having issues. Your rotation grazing sounds like a good plan. You might be tempted to rotate the cows over on the horse area maybe a time or two. The Ol' cows may clean up some stuff those dang horses won't eat. Thanks for sharing & the update. Take care.

That's great advice! I've heard the horses will eat the grass around the cow crap, vice-versa. The tractor issues are a pain, but comes with the territory I guess. They don't make O-Rings like they use to! Lol

That's something cool to get into! We know someone that's really into rotational, they have their own pasture mix of clover and grasses that they swear by. Every day between spring and winter he rotates the animals. As far as the tractor, it's almost annual we have to do something with the JD 6420 fuel setup. Whether it's the return lines or injector rail, that thing is always leaking also.

Yeah, they say to rotate every day, and you get the most out of it. I'm sure they're right about that, and I'll most likely give that a try. Sorry your 6420 has the same bug my TL90 has. It's extremely annoying.. and costly. Hope all is well for you and your family!

I'm doing the same rotation as you Chris 👏 I planted several different annual grasses last year. I had a grazing type sorghum Sudan, Barley, Teff grass, and cereal rye . I had strips of each variety 1 direction and the fencing running the other direction, I really thought it was a successful process....had done the same thing this year and the only thing that grew or took off was the rye , I think I have some bad seed ,cause had, had good enough moisture for anything to grow 🤷♂️ Like you I clipped and drug a chain over mine last year, haven't had time to this year 🤦♂️ Hopefully you get your workhorse potty trained....it can be aggravating 😖 Looks like a happy healthy cattle operation you're running there 😉😁🇺🇸

That's an interesting idea with the strips of different grass variety! I like that. Was there one that they like more than the other? Rye seems to be the most resilient/dominant in a stand of mixed grasses, at least in my area. The injector pump thing is getting pretty old. Good thing I'm not feeding bales right now! I'd be rolling them with my truck and a rope! Ha ha. Take care my friend

@@DennysCountryLife well it seemed like the sorghum had the best growth followed by the barley I believe and that's the order the cows would go for too ...I should have said the Tess grass didn't take, 2 years in a row

Good setup! If it makes you feel any better, a bunch of stuff broke around here in the last week- and the weather stinks too lol
