Great videos! Love the P6BS…I had two: the first was a ‘73 L reg, the second was a ‘77 R reg and, reputedly, the 10th last ever made.

Graham, I'm sitting here waiting for a phone call from the elderly owner of a 1974 3.5, to let me know if I can have it!! Fingers crossed. Great stuff.

Graham will the stock heads(althou slightly ported) that are for the 3.5 not strangle the power on the 4.6 ... i did a 4.6 years ago and found a twin plemium setup with a cam and manifolds it made 292 hp and 328 ft ran out of puff really after 5k but was a right stump puller ! cracking video looking forward to the numbers .... would be nice to see some tubular manifolds on it as well owe and a 4 barrel Webber !!!!

both this and the previous 3.5 build of this used 4.6 heads. absolutely it would be nice to see effects of tubular manifolds and 4 barrel but we just dont have that option right now

Ditch the Rover knockoff and use a 350 Buick with T/A alu heads and intake..

I noticed that the pistons are different from my P5b Coupe. Mine are completely flat on top. Which surprised me a bit as it can't do the flow any favours. Would you recommend different pistons?
@PenguinMotors

P5b pistons are 10.5:1 compression and normally have a very shallow dish in them, the bowl depth wont effect airflow. with modern fuels it is usually preferable to either use composite head gaskets to lower the compression or change the pistons

@@PenguinMotors How much is a turn key 4.6 RV8? I'm tempted to have one dropping into my P6B 3500.

What about the gearbox

its a rebuilt LT77, which is just fine unless your going to drive it like you stole it, i did have to uprate the clutch though a standard one couldn't cope with the torque
