The first Anglo Ukrainian who passed out to become a Royal Marine was John Nowak and unfortunately died during the Falklands war he is buried there . There's another Royal Marine with the the same surname but is Australian he died in Afghanistan. My thinking is both were Ukrainians, it's a shame to have wonderful people who served let as honour them both .

Are those recruits there with the black berets? If so how come they're running with the other marines lol.

Recruits at different phases of training wear different head gear. You only get to wear the RM Green beret if you have completed training. Each small group is a training platoon, with its cadre of RM training staff.

The Traditional Royal Marines Beret before they became the nations commando's was navy blue with a red patch behind the cap badge. All Royal marines recruits wear this beret in their first phase of training until they enter the "Commando course" phase of training where in the speed march you would have seen some squads wearing a "cap comforter" headdress as seen in the old commando comics. Other head dress would have been other military working with the Royal Marines who had not yet "earnt" their "Green Beret". On my pass out parade we exchanged our blue berets for the green one in front of friends and family. A tradition that still goes on today@@josephhelyenek9203

A nine mile (14.5 km) speed march, to be completed in 90 minutes; the pace is thus 10 minutes per mile (9.6 km/h or 6 mph).

🤔 they aren't carrying fighting order. It's a Boot Run. Not a Speed March.
