Just bought one today, going to shoot it tomorrow but I love Ruger revolvers, have the .357 Match Champion, New Model Blackhawk and an SP101 in .357. Can't wait to shoot the Redhawk.

Love it! I am waiting on a blued 5.5 inch Redhawk 44 Magnum to show up. I found one through an estate sale with accessories for a good price. I have a Super Redhawk 44 Magnum that was bought for me years ago that has the 9.5 inch barrel. Shoots great, but it's a bug hunk of metal. We have some hogs and bears here in Central Georgia as well.

I've just about forsaken all else. I have the same model. I, too, have noted great accuracy with this gun. It's a rifle in a pistol package. That's all I ever wanted.

Picked up mine at Rocky Montain Elk banquet. Great finish, great trigger, and great grips. Has the RMEF logo engraved on the body side. However, I'm 69, 6'1", 150 lbs, and really need a big guy behind me when I squeeze the trigger. LOL

I have the Ruger GP 100 with a 4" barrel. I love it. After I bought it. The state where I live passed laws. I have to get a permit to buy hand guns now. That sucks. I may never be able to buy another hand gun. And I am to old to move.

Yes my GP100 is an all time favorite and a pleasure to shoot. It always makes my blood boil when I hear of new infringements on our constitutional rights. If possible, vote all of them out. Round up all the names of the traitors who voted for it and share with everyone.

Memphis 2 Houston Thank you! Yes it is a beast...I have no doubt the .357 will be plenty of gun for anything you could need. Like I said in the video, I have had a fascination with the .44 since a very young age, so I admit this was more of a want than a need. In fact, the very first handgun I ever fired was a 6" S&W model 29. LOL

Nice. does the weight start to wear on you after a while carrying it on your hip in a holster or is it not too bad?
@bluecollargunsandgear2361
6 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is heavy. 47 oz... I have always loved Ruger revolvers, but they are notoriously heavy, and for that reason alone I would prefer a S&W 629 with a 3" or 4" barrel. I've owned a couple S&W .44's and they carry easier, simply put. They are also extremely accurate, same as this one. The biggest advantage for me with the S&W is the weight. The Ruger also has an advantage, I believe, because it will shoot the hottest rounds available. There are really hot rounds made specifically for Ruger, in fact...I'm not doubting that the S&W could handle them, but I know the Rugers will. Thanks for watching.

beautiful handgun brother.Im thinking bout getting this or gp100 4 inch.Hows the recoil?
@bluecollargunsandgear2361

Recoil is very manageable. The gun weighs 47 ounces so that helps. I have only fired some Winchester 240 grain soft points, so far, so we'll see how it does with some hotter stuff. You can't go wrong with the Redhawk or GP100. Both are exceptional. Thanks

I recently bought a gp 100 in 4 “ after some polishing a trigger shim kit and a wolf spring kit it is my favorite gun very accurate 38 specials are very soft to shoot.357 s are snappy but manageable with practice but all are very accurate.

I heard all the new S&W with the trigger Locks ,are not that great , at least their double action pull is pretty bad. I shot a 629 mountain Gun with the lock , single action was fine , but double action not that great. no experience with Ruger revolvers , but if I buy a new revolver it will be a Ruger. A hate s&w Trigger Lock, I bet 99% of people never use the lock. .. put your gun in a safe if you have little ones.

I have both GP100s and a Redhawk. Field strip, clean and lube the gun after 500 to 1,000 rounds and I would put the triggers up against many customers trigger jobs on other companies revolvers.

You want the 5.5 inch barrel for a bear/safety hunting/woods gun. it’s just a bit bigger than this but not full-size just the perfect balance. Try shooting a bear charging from 100 yards with a short barrel
