Guys, an electric ratchet is not intended to break loose nuts and bolts. The "breaking loose" is done by your hand, wrist and handle of the ratchet. The motor is only there to do the easy turning. In the video you have performed an impact wrench test, on a little ratchet. No bueno.

True but I have to admit the coach bolt segment impressed the hell out of me.

The video is still WAY better than an "unboxing" video... that was the point of the torque testing. Any benchmark is better than none. 👍

I agree with that, I still am a bit disappointed that Ryobi is so far off in the specs tho. I would rather they said 20 foot-pounds.

90% of the time can just use an impact driver and be gentle with the throttle. Apart from it getting into tighter spaces why would anyone buy one

All depends on the ratchet. Get a ratchet with a 75 lb applied torque it can easily break free torqued bolts up to usually around the same or greater than the applied torque rating! However, cheap ones like Ryobi are lucky to even be able to break torque manually. And some break if too much manual torque is applied. Head to someplace else for better info....torque test channel.

I have one just like it and it does very well for me, Remember it is 3/8 drive, It removed the front sheet metal on my dodge truck with ease. Every bolt never removed since 1998.

I’m not surprised that most people don’t know what there really meant for . It’s for thanking nuts off after they are broke loose . It’s not a impact tool at all . It’s not a impact driver . It’s just a nut runner .

I think most of us know what it is and that he just tested if it lived up to the specs, how else would you test the specs, or are you not interested in the capabilities of any wrench that isn't an impact wrench? I for one, want to know how much all of my tools can cope so I don't break them or misuse them. And, while you are so picky and "knowledgeable" (and therefore must also be accurate in writing/proofreading), what do you mean by saying the tool is for "thanking" nuts? Does it have a speaker? 😉 Just for the fun dude, don't get upset ❤

Mine has lost all its driver power. Its so bad after a couple of years that I can stop the rachet from turning using just my hand. Fully charged 4ah 18v battery pack

Good stuff 👍 I'm a Ryobi fan myself 🙂 I've looked at these several times and just haven't been able to pull the trigger. (Water 💦 adds a little extra entertainment 😜 own it 😉 😂 makes for a good laugh.)

Have had other powered ratchet wrenches. Found no compelling reason for buying another one. An Impact driver is more useful to me.

Only reason I got it was cause it's so easy to fit it on tight spaces..unlike an impact wrench..but yeah it doesn't have much power..

@@snoobster1 now, in mid-2022, the wrench has a long neck and boasts 60 Nm (44,25 ft-lb), would be great if someone could test the specs on that one. I have a lot of One+ tools and batteries, and if it can do at least 40 Nm, I think it's worth buying. I like it that it's now brushless. Yes, I know that it isn't supposed to fully tighten and open nuts/bolts, but for the money it should be a bit more powerful.
No excuse IMHO Its off about 30% Bummer I have ALOT of Ryobi batt tools all have been great.

@@livefreeandtoolon Exactly, I would have liked it more if Ryobi were true to their specs. I would love it if you could do a video of the updated version with a longer neck and brushless motor, now they say 60 Nm (44,25 ft-lb)? I like your objective approach and style, subbed 👍

No need to put it in capitals to make your point, he did at no time in the video state that the tool was anything else than what it is. As LFaTO already replied, don't you think the specs should live up to real-life data just because it isn't an impact wrench?
