Hi Sir. I had a few of these little cars over the years and indeed there is a little detent you need to break through to get reverse. But it could also be the selector Faulk inside the transaxle. I broke mine completely because I had bolted in a R5 Gordini engine into it. Too much grunt for the little box. Oh and when you go to the registry office or state police to check it's chassis number. They don't stamp it anywhere. It's on the little triangle tin plate on the bulkhead (fire wall) in the front Luggage area. Same with the engine. A little tin tag pop riveted to the block. I had to get an old supervisor guy down from the head office to inspect mine as they weren't going to pass the car. Great to see another R10 on the internet. Thank you also for keeping any changes your doing reversible too, these cars are getting rare and it will be great to see someone restore this little gem into good condition again. Cheers from Australia.

Hi, at 6 minutes, the lights are used for overnight roadside parking. One lamp draws less current than four, the function was on many European cars at the time, a variant was that they were controlled by the blinker lever. Only the side that was out of the way needed to be "lighted".

As far as I know all Euro cars still have this feature its called a "parking light"- if you turn the ignition off with the indicator (turn signal) engaged then the front sidelight and rear tail light on that side will turn on. @@mastercricket7626 The first time I used this trick was on another Renault, an R5. The motor mount failed and it was the same as your shifter mounts only bigger. Respect for keeping the car non-permanently altered. Based on the drag, weight, and power output of the engine, assuming it is geared perfectly its top speed should be around 68mph (+/- 3~ mph). But, it is probable that it isn't geared right to hit this number. Plus, there may be some additional drag factors that aren't typically factored in; older bearings, older tyres, even steering misalignment can all slow the car down. I think it should pretty easily break 55mph, and that there is a good chance it will hit 60+. Cheers
