Sabaton is from Sweden. The lead singer, Joakim Broden, also has Czech descent on his mother's side. They are an amazing live band, like Nightwish. Hannes' drumset is usually set on a stand shaped as some war implement (depending on the tour, either a tank, 88mm gun, AA pompoms etc). Most of their albums are in English, but some have Swedish versions as well. The Swedish version of their album Carolus Rex is one of my favorites. It's about the rise and decline of the Swedish Empire in the 17th-18th centuries and its 2 warrior kings, Gustavus Adolphus and Charles XII. I recommend that you check it out.

This band is in the power metal genre, if you investigate their videos there is a large mix of lyric videos/performance videos/music videos featuring many incarnations of band members - the singer and the bass player are the two constants in every incarnation. I would suggest to you 'Ghost Division' and '40:1' from Woodstock '12, 'The Red Baron' lyric video, the 'Night Witches' lyric video, 'Seven Pillars of Wisdom' music video and 'Lejonet Fran Norden' (w/ Apocalyptica) from the Great Tour '20.

Battle of the Atlantic is the final line, Sabaton history is their second channel , kzitem.info/rock/aG4CBbZih6nLzD08bTBGfw. All band members are from Sweden . Joakim Brodén is the lead singer, he and the bass player, Pär Sundström, are the only two original members. The band was formed in 1999 and have had several different member changes, all on good terms. Tommy Johansson (blonde guitar player), Chris Roland (guitar) both switch off playing lead, and the man who is lucky to be married to our Queen of Symphonic metal Floor Jansen , Hannes van Dahl (drums) make up the band today.

The music is made by their partner, Wargaming.net. Its a game developer team of the popular games World of Tanks, World of Warships and World of Warplanes. In World of Tanks you were able to get a Sabaton tank, with their logo and all. It would cost less than you'd think, because as the creators of World of Warships, they already created most, if not all the assets you see (like the ships) for their game. So they dont actually have to create those anymore. It's basically ''drag and drop'' animate the ships and its done, in very simple terms.

Singer: Joakim Broden (pronounced yo-a-kim) from Sweden, the whole band's swedish. Their history channel is simply named Sabaton History. The Bismarck video is dedicated to those who fought to the bitter end in the battle of the Atlantic. It happened in WW 2 when the pride of Germany, the biggest battleship ever built, the Bismarck, blew up the mighty battlecruiser HMS Hood that was the pride of the British Royal Navy at the time. Needless to say the queen was pissed so she organized an all out hunt on the Atlantic ocean aiming to sink the Bismarck. Hence the lyrics "2,000 men and 50,000 tons of steel set the course for the Atlantic with the Allies on their heel" meant to point out that the Bismarck was made of 50k tons of steel and crewed by 2000 men and chased on the Atlantic ocean by the brits who were in the Allied camp as opposed to the Axis camp lead by nazi Germany.
@Scythes
4 жыл бұрын
The Bismarck was not the biggest battleship ever built. Actually even the sistership Tirpitz was marginally bigger in displacement because of a few changes in design and upgrades. Both the American Iowa-class battleships (270 meters and 60 000 tonns) and the Japanese Yamato-class battleships (263 meters and 73 000 tonns) were bigger. The Bismarck-class battleships were however the biggest battleship in the European battlescene tying up massive resources throughout the war with their mere existence until the Tirpitz was sunk outside Tromsø, Norway in late 1944 after over 20 failed attempts to sink it. The germans did have planes for larger battleships known as the H-class battleships. Had it been finalised the largest one would have been the H-44 coming in at 345 meters and 131 000 tonns (net weight). The keels were laid down for two H-39 battleships, but they were not completed. They would have been 278 meters and 63 000 tonns.

Sabaton history is their channel. What is even more i teresting, is the fact that up until the sinking of HMS Hood the British navy weren’t so hard set to get the Bismarck, but the way the Hood was literally oblittorated(one of the germen shells hit their main munitions depot, causing a gigantic explosion that tore the ship apart and all of it’s crew lost) that incident caused the British navy to go for blood, as it was a disaster for their reputation to have the flagship of UK destroyed by the Germans so i guess it was part revenge part taking out a serious opponent mission.

The Bismarck was a battleship built by Germany in ww2. He was made to disrupt resupply convoys from the us to Britain in the north Atlantic. Shortly after departure from Germany heading north to refuel in Sweden he was discovered by a reconnaissance aircraft. Britain knowing the Bismarck was a dangerous threat set out to sink him. HMS hood engaged in the north Baltic sea and a single shell detonated the hoods magazine and sunk. The British were on the hunt again, until radio silence was broken and gave the Bismarck position away. A bright aircraft carrier sent torpedo planes to attack and jammed the Bismarck rudder and was forced to attempt to head back to friendly shores in France at a much reduced speed. After numerous tornado attacks the Bismarck finally succumbed to the damage, capsized, and sank. You can see a full video of his history on sabaton history channel.

The Bismarck was deployed together with the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen to Norway in the fjords outside Bergen training for operation Rheinübung. He was spottet by Norwegian watchmen passing the south coast of Norway and it was later spotted by a reconnaissance aircraft in the western fjords. This forced the Bismarck to head out early for the operation and the decision to not fuel up was made to save time. The HMS Norfolk and Suffolk was positioned the intercept and prevent the Bismarck and Prinz Eugen from entering the north Atlantic. Bismarck and Prinz Eugen engaged the Norfolk and Suffolk in the strait of Greenland forcing them back and calling for support and the HMS Hood and Prince of Wales were sent out from Scapa Flow to intercept the germans coming out from the Greenland strait. They enganged resulting in the loss of the HMS Hood. The Bismarck and Prinz Eugen then bails and shake of the remaining british ships. The Bismarck was hit by a shell in the bow causing it the partially flood. This makes him heavy in the water and slow. They decide that the Prinz Eugen will head on leading the brits away while the Bismarck heads towards France for repairs. This where the decision not to fuel up come back and kick them in the ass. The Bismarck it leaking oil because of the damage and can not go full speed towards France. The Bismarck however shakes the british and are home free, but an error in judgement from the fleet commander causes them the break radio silence becuase they think the british know where they are. The position is revealed and the Bismarck is spottet again by air reconnaissance and the british home fleet is directed towards the Bismarck. A single hit to the rudder from a torpedo plane jams the rudder in a slow turn forcing the Bismarck to turn back towards the Home fleet. And well...the rest is history.

SABATON, a great band! I am especially happy that they use only really confirmed historical facts in their songs, that is, there is no politics there. As they themselves have repeatedly admitted, many of their songs were born from reviews and fan letters. That is, the fans send some interesting historical military facts, the guys are looking for information, if it is not enough for the song and based on this information already creates their masterpieces. Initially, I met this group purely by chance. Our compatriot did covers in our language of songs of this group and I was very hooked by the theme, their musical style, which I really like. and after that, I became a fan!)) if you are interested in the band, I strongly advise you to listen to the songs "Red Baron", "Night Whitches", "Attack of the dead man", "Primo Victoria", "Atero Dominatus " etc. They sounds really amazing!)))
