The hatch idea was a real improvement. Starting with a small boat, makes the project attainable😊

Hi Joe, I’m really enjoying your videos especially when you do one on the Skipper. As a former owner of nearly 30 years, I look forward to seeing what you do with the boat. That being said, I really think you must remove the foam in the lazarette. Whatever it takes, the foam must go. Sooner or later, you will need to access the drain hoses and thru-hull fittings. Ask me how I know! I don’t think you need to make a plug for the bottom of the motorwell. In 30 years, the amount of water that came in this way wouldn’t fill a small bucket. More came in thru the opening into the cockpit and a small bilge pump fed into the motorwell handled that nicely. I noticed a small hole in the aft wall of the well. Maybe that was how the water got in. I did not have that hole on my Skipper. I really liked watching you struggle with the installation of the cockpit lockers. I had a similar experience when I added swiveling fairleads and cam cleats on tracks on the cockpit gunwales for my Genoa sail. You and I have similar builds so I know what a tight squeeze it is under the cockpit.

Those lockers look really great and I'm sure will be invaluable for good dry storage

Looking at the hull of that sailboat, it would lend itself to a mini lobster boat by moving the cockpit forward. But that would require a lot more effort. With no profit.

Another great vid, short, sweet and on point. One question thoughis suppers/dranage a consideration for lockers?

Thanks John. I think no need for draining the lockers since the hatches are water tight and the Skipper 20 already has scuppers in the cockpit. 👍😁
