I have a Saito FA220 which, like your 180, is a real beast. I use a TY1 high torque starter (with two 4S Lipos) which starts it fine but anything less, forget it! I hand start many of my engines but would not want to start the big Saitos by hand, they have a real kick - you're braver than I am! Mine starts fine but I have a silencer with pressure nipple which helps and may explain why yours was reluctant to start. However, these are wonderful engines, mine is in a Black Horse Models Hawker Typhoon. Grahame

I went to an estate sale last week and got myself a brand new saito 150 and a used OS FS 52 fitted in a biplane, and a bunch of other stuff, for $200, the saito for sure is brand new! No box though, i will sell it on ebay to recover all the cost. The OS 52 I will keep. 4 strokes are the best, love the sound, beautiful japanese engines, they made them to perfection!

Very good to know my friend. I share your love for nitro engines also and soon i will be getting my social security and have been looking heavily on eba and intend to bid on as many as i can and repair and sell and keep the ones i like to use on planes. Often there are lots of engines that go for under 100.00s. That is one reason i have such an interest in your test stand. I like it better than any i have seen so far. That is why i ask for the information on it and would be willing to pay for such information. It has a very good design. I am a good fabricator so acquiring the materials and building it with something to go by without an engine in it would be great. Your mechanical intelligence and fabrication experience is very evident. Im so glade to see Robert allowing you to speak more about the engines and what you have done. Please keep sharing and giving the information on the parts you used and what you had to do. Videos are getting not only more entertaining but also more informative and interesting. Thankyou to the both of you. By the way y'all need to get an exhaust system and don't edit. Thats what makes y'all the best. Hope y'all are okay.

Engine starts at 13:59 if your in a hurry! Lol! I have this same engine in my 89 inch WS Dyna-flite Super Decathlon and it seems to start every time! One must watch flipping these engines when they are wet! They will eat a finger or two! Also I swear that's Brian Johnson from AC/DC behind the camera! Great Job guys!

Like you said R. This is a big boy engine. And the sound is just awesome. The end was crazy but we had good time here. Oh yeah... We just love Saito babys... Cheers, Robert

Yup, it needs the muffler for back pressure, to supply pressure into the fuel tank, so fuel will easily pull into the carb, I salute you captain bloz eh!

Sometimes after you rebuild your motors they just a little off till they reset all parts in the correct places...15% nitro and fresh fuel and glow plug makes it a bit easier..!!! you must do break-in again if you change many parts..gr8 job blaz !! never give up..
