I think they separated life from death, as in the scene where the duk talks about his mother. These are the laws which govern their life, not their death. They saw death as the easy way out, sort of like the finale. (Btw I know this comment was made a while ago but I couldn’t help but respond):)

I know most people discuss the message and subject of this film (for a damn good reason), but I kind of really love the cinematography. Just the locations, shot compositions, and sounds are all great to me. This doesn’t make the movie any less fucked, maybe even more so. I just really like it. Don’t plan on watching it over and over again though.

@Sarah I was raised on the left but now I find myself more and more on the right each passing day lol. In many ways I'm very liberal but deep down when it really comes down to it I know I'm very conservative. It gets frustrating sometimes because people always assume I'm super left leaning because I'm Latino and I've been tattooing for ten years and even went to art school in San Francisco but I knew deep down I was a "republican vampire".
