@@Lathland You missed the add on for Planetary Diversity. There's also unique worlds, like the Tiyanki Graveyard, Crystal world, and bio-synthetic world. The Exotic Worlds are worlds such as Ammonia Worlds, Methane Worlds, Radioactive Worlds, and Ash worlds. But you cannot settle normal planets as a species who evolved on an Ammonia or Methane planet or any exotic world for example. Hey lathrix, i left some mods sugegstions for your stellaris series back in march 2019, since you're playing it now i'll leave the updated recommended list: - Plentiful traditions (after this many playthroughs the traditions get boring so this mod adds many more aswell as ascencion perks) -Guili's planet modifiers (i think this one gives planets more of a unique feel) - EUTAB (some unique buildings and techs) - NSC2 (new classes of ships, basically a complete overhaul of ships and stations) - Even more origins (great new start options) - Precursor story pack (adds more archeological sites that give you a fun story to follow and discover) - Gigastructures (you already knows) - Super structures (mega structures but for early game, they help with tall empires which were my favourite) - Real Space (makes the game look amazing with new systems like microquasars) - Bio-harvester origin (might be a little bit OP but the RP is great, a robot empire that consumes entire planets) i highly recommend any mod that adds ascencion perks because you can use them to do a certain playstyle, i remeber an ascercion that allowed you to build microbots that produce resources insted of your pops, i used this to make an utopia, or one that added in cortana from halo to assist with research. I also love mods that add new origins and traits ans so on, i feel that new mechanics give tons more possibilities and hours of content, i also recommend forcing empires that you create with these mods to spawn in the galaxy as usually player empires are stronger. Cant wait for more modded episodes, keep up the content. Also, could you try the game "X3:albion prelude" its quite old, but with the Litcube Mod (which is almost a must have) it's still pretty fun, and i'm pretty sure avorion based itself on it.

I would recommend checking out the 'Real Space' mod combined with it's 'New Frontiers' sub-mod/add-on as an alternative to Planetary Diversity; instead of adding two dozen new planet classes, it gives the nine existing normal types, as well as Tombs and Gaias modifiers that change their appearance and habitability rating, as well as determine whether they are considered 'normal', 'paradise' or 'extremal', with associated events for each. 'Real Space - New Frontiers' also changes models and art of uninhabitable planet classes via modifiers for more variety for those as well. Edit: 'PD' and 'New Frontiers' are technically compatible, but I'd still test them seperately.

If you're looking for other mods to help add extra combat or expand existing systems I can second the many people who have already suggested Guilli's planet modifiers. Hey Lathrix! Came back to the comments of this video for this specifically because my suggestion has to do with this mod, planetary diversity, and I believe the Exotic Planets addon? One of the additional PD mods, at any rate. It adds the “From the Ashes of the Rusnads” origin, which has a super cool gimmick where your home planet’s moon is a forge world locked behind a planetary shield, and you start with a special project to unshield it. I think you could have a lot of fun with it, particularly if you wanted to do another lore-heavy role playing run like the Honorbound, though obviously a new empire better suited to such an Origin. So yeah, just a very excitable fan who wants to see his favorite stellaris KZitemr try out one of the cooler modded origins they’ve seen. That’s all! 👍

Excellent spotlight, I was looking at this mod but wasn't sure about compatibility, after this look though, I'm definitely going to check it out! On the topic of other mods to try, you might think about replacing "Species Diversity" with "Trait Diversity", it sounds similar but they are in completely different leagues. Some of the traits in "Trait Diversity" are a bit over-the-top, but there's nothing that stands out as completely game-breaking. Another that I would suggest is a trio of mods (one of which you've already covered ^ ^), also focused on empire creation: -Expanded Stellaris Traditions -Expanded Stellaris Ascension Perks -Ethics and Civics Alternative I've found this combination alongside Trait Diversity allows for some VERY unique playthroughs. For example I'm currently playing as a Divine Empire with a "fractured" hive mind, focused on traditionalism and asceticism, giving massive bonuses to Unity, but sacrificing research speed. It's been interesting to see my empire develop to become more powerful not through technology, but through adopting traditions and ascension perks (the combination of expanded traditions and ascension perks makes the tradition tree dynamic based on your empire type, and makes a unity-focused empire more viable!) Anyway, glad to see you messing about with more mods and such :D Can't wait to see what crazy shenanigans you get up to next time!

PD is one of the mod packs that I've installed. All the mods in. Plus Real Space. Sincerely speaking, its awesome. I love the idea of multiple planets types per biomas and weather conditions. And I love to just look at these planets, the new skins are awesome, extremely cool and adapts to every kind of games (you can, for example, build your own Star Wars universe keeping your planets stick to SW lore) other than offer different options in game. I would like to have a better specialization for these planets (like desert planets more productive for minerals, wet planets offers more food etc) but even now the mod is cool enough. I still waiting for a better skin about megaflora planets, other than insist for the 3 diversifications of this specific type of planet (wet megaflora, dry megaflora, cold megaflora) but again, the mod is already cool. About the skin, current skin for megaflora is just that of a normal forest/jungle/possibly gaia world so it doesn't give exactly the idea of a world suffocated by gigantic ecosystem and plants. That should be a necessary step to take, if you ask me. Apart from that, me, that I'm a huge fan of Halo, I always love to create an empire that is the most closest possible to the lore. With planets like Reach that are more cold than continental, others like Tribute that are more arid etc. Even when I play as the Covenant I try to build up my empire looking at the lore as much as possible. Colonizing planets or terraforming them when it's necessary to fit the lore of the Covenant. Unfortunately i have a problem with the mod now since I've installed the new pack of Halo mods plus NSC and it kinda works but there's some issues that gives me no "fog of war" nor diplomacy. So I can't properly play for now. I'm still trying to fix it, but since I've 225 mods installed right now and game loads in 15 minutes, I can't find the problem quickly. Surprisingly enough, once loaded the game, this runs perfectly with no lags except for few moments when I visit systems with nebula. That's the only problem that I have right now with this playset. I guess my graphic card is too old to carry every graphic improvement. But I'll fix that too. Yeah, definitely a mod you should use every time. Absolutely approved. 😎👍

Now I can't have my overpowered geothermal world with 0 penalties :( The species diversity mod looks really nice, adding more character to your chosen species and empire while not going completely overboard like trait diversity (7 traits over 9 types vs 164 traits over all specie types). Shame there's nothing new for machines though, I find them the most flexible type for traits which is something I really like about trait diversity's take on machines; adding ability to fly, weapons that boost physics and engineering research, having missing numbers or sub-routines that simulates religion and so on. Also because of how trade value works, there is no percentage to each pop, each job just checks if the species working it has a trait and increases the trade value by the amount it should be(e.g. a job that produces 2 trade value checks if the pop working it has thrifty, and if it does it adds an additional 0.5 trade value), so pearls isn't going to apply to moguls or any other job with trade value that isn't something the creators of species diversity accounted for unless you can find a special compatibility patch.

I stuffed up the mod load order and didn't notice it wasn't working until I was already near endgame. Tiny outlier and UI Overhaul Dynamic are must haves imo.

Here's some of the mods that I enjoy. More events and dynamic political events just add more things that can happen into the game. NSC2 Searson 5 adds a lot more ship classes, components, and gives you greater control over the ship's behavior in battle. While separate mods these play well together so I'll list them together. Zenith of Fallen Empires 3.0 and it's submods, Ancient cache of technologies, and Ancient cache of technologies : Sins of the fallen empires. There is some overlap, but short version, more tech, it buffs the fallen empires. If you have Zenith of fallen empires and gigastructures installed fallen empires get attack moons and awakened empires get a behemoth planetcraft. These mods also let you become an ascended empire yourself and gives you a great deal more options. There is a great deal more tech and you can research all of the fallen empire buildings yourself. Basically a ton more endgame content. Last but nor least real space adds a ton of cool looking systems. No real game play changes just makes space look cooler.

Try out the superstructure mod, it allows for early game mega structures which can be built for almost any resource but require specific systems to be built in.

@Lathland

Thank you so much for the appreciation! However I must say It was 14 hours to gather footage for along with edit & render and sort out a few other upload details, these shorter videos are a lot easier than the full playthroughs and some other content which can take a full day to edit down from the 50+ hours of footage I collect! But again, thank you. :)

Is there a mod that can make the Factions tab more interesting and engaging?I mean the civics mod does a pretty good job in making your empire really unique in how it is managed, but I feel like it needs the "Estates" from eu4 treatment, with coups,revolts, events and happiness modifiers aside from a scaling influence gain!Factions are usually uncooperative, stubborn and destructive towards one another and the establishment. It would make peaceful playstyles way more fun,since internal problems would always be an issue, when no external threat takes the stage.

You are kinda obligated now to make an Ant Empire with the Species mod. At least I'd love to see that. Also on a bioluminiscent world cause that's just neat.

I would recommend getting UI Overhaul Dynamic, it will make working with gigastructural engineering a lot easier to use. Theres also an addon for it that gives you more ascension perk slots, which I would also recommend since there is quite a lot of ascension perks in gigastructures, and i would hate to see you torture yourself by restarting 97 times to see them all.
@clementj2588

If you play with gigastructural engineering you should really add a mod to have more ascension slot, you are gonna need so much of them if you want to try anything with the mod.

I use the one that adds the ability to get extra slots via research. Starts at 110,000 research for the ninth perk and goes up from there. Keeps it slightly balanced. Unfortunately I can't remember which one that is at the moment.

Please also try star net AI. It makes the AI a lot harder, and a lot more aggressive. They will legit corvette spam you, and I feel like it would be a pretty good challenge for you. It does this by making them smarter, not necessarily by giving them more stuff so even one of the lower difficulties would be more fun.

Note: Might not want to put it in a gigastructures playthrough, if you really wsanna focus on gigastructures. You may also want to try event horizon offset facility, which includes a new megastructure, built for an event chain which can trigger a new end game crisis. I think it would fit really well into the type of runs you do.

Alright here is a playthrou idea: "The Collector" play an empire who's goal it is to have atleast one of every planet inside their borders, to the point they would start wars over it, if you'd be to convert a world into an archology, you'd need to replace it, and obviosly you also want a ringworld and atleast one habitat of each tier...
