I was doing a regular fast, I felt hungry, brain fog.. So I decided make it a sardine fast. Ate two cans... I had enough energy to go for a 10 mile bike ride. The hunger is gone. I don't expect to lose much weight as I have been eating almost keto for about a year. I used to lose 1 lbs every 3 days, now its 1 lbs every 15 days.

Talking about sardines, I'm anemic , I'm morbidly obese 34 yr old female weighing 420 lbs I started eating sardines & tuna and since meal 1 let me tell you , my body asked for more & more every spoon and I then felt my body absorb every nutrient in every bite and I realized how depleted my body was for so long. I'm started Monday September 2nd 2024 after 1 week of only tuna and sardines. I suffer acute tube ovarian abcess that has overgrown 7x leaving me septic in hospital many times. Tuna & Sardines changed my life in 1 week loss 13 lbs. It took all carb & sugar cravings away, my glucose is getting better everyday. Thank you ladies for sharing.

Day 5 for me...down 7 lbs! I have 40 lbs to lose. My morning glucose is now 75 and my ketones are up to 2.5. I am heading to 7 days. Will reaccess and may continue longer. All the food noise has left and I feel like I have freedom!

I was so grossed out but I was able to do one day, the day before yesterday. Yesterday I went back to ribeye and after watching this I decided I can tolerate them enough to incorporate them more for the nutrients. This morning I woke up and crazy as it is, I craved sardines! I ate two cans for my first meal. I call them fish steaks to handle it, but this morning they tasted pretty good. I guess my body liked them. I will incorporate either a day or three here and there or use them for one meal. So weird! It definitely is a nice change to reset.

I save used food bags (anything with a ziplock). I rinse the can and lid, then put them in the bag and seal it. It really helps. (But I have a family of 5)

You are so right, we have to make a decision to change. An acquaintance keeps stating she is Polish, and has to eat the Polish foods, one’s high in carbs especially sugar. But, she is diabetic, her body is inflamed as she always complains about aches and pains, and she is at an unhealthy weight. But, because she loves and the kruschiki, kolaczki, babka, etc., and identifies with Polish food, she will not change. Crazy.

Listening to the experience here, I thought I would mention what I do. I will eat sardines for breakfast and lunch and then eat a regular meal like beef patties first dinner. This way you don’t miss regular food so much that you binge when it’s over. Also, you can do it long term until you meet your goal because you always have dinner to look forward to so it makes it easy to train your mind to accept breakfast and lunch as just being sardines. You will still lose weight and you won’t gain it back or binge when you quit. I will slowly go to just having it for breakfast and then quit altogether. My glucose still drops lower than I would ever see it if I was not eating the 2 meals of sardine. I just checked it and it was 71. I never get it below 85 when I’m just eating meat. Hope that helps someone who can’t handle doing all sardines for several days. I tried that the first time a year ago and couldn’t do it but what I’m doing now is easy and sustainable

Thank you for sharing. I actually used to like sardines! That was before my first sardine fast. 😂 What I've done a lot of is incorporating an egg fast with a sardine fast. I eat eggs at noon with butter, then 1-2 cans of sardines for dinner. My results have been very good and I found that I continue to lose for the first day or two after I finish. I've had success even after coming straight off of a 6 week round of PSMF.

I'm going to do the same thing that Adrian is planning. I'm going to do sardines Tuesday Wednesday and Thursdays and then I'm going to eat regular carnivore Friday Saturday Sunday Monday. I had super good results high ketones and lost seven pounds so im happy.

My first day of a 3 day sardine challenge was spent battling the "I shoulds/shouldn'ts", fighting with eating when you're hungry when you've been IF forever! Doubting the amount of Sardines i needed to feel full 'cause i needed alot and it seemed like everyone who posted were eating 2-4 cans. THIS IS THE 'WHY' OF DOING THIS!! I need to see this! The emotional baggage has to go for this to become a lifestyle. Thank you Ladies!!

Thank you ladies for the chat! Being women we struggle with so many issues and the hormones are the biggest (I'm 63). Losing weight even on carnivore is still not as easy as most of the male doctors/influencers say it is. I for one say do what is right for your body, it's your own health journey. Thanks again for sharing your stories through this challenge...it has helped me gain a lot of useful information for myself going forward. ❤

Thank you ladies for being so vulnerable and sharing your results with this fast. My husband is diabetic and we've been carnivore for over two months. Despite having no carbs, his blood sugars have been unable to drop without medication. He's on day two of the sardine fast and already having dramatic glucose improvements! I hate seafood but I'm considering trying this fast because of his results and you three.

Jason Fungi’s book The Obesity Code explains why we lose then gain more weight back. I’m listening to the audio book - it’s uncomfortable to hear the truth but reassuring to hear it’s not our fault in ANY way. When we understand how our system works we can do sth about it.

I read his Diabetes code first. 4 years ago. Blood sugar control is my issue and my Why. Have lost 75 lbs and off Metformin since the first month. Mostly I eat carnivore. Once I stablized couldn't ket ketones us and fastin blood sugars down, the past year. In my second day of sardines only and it's working. Not sure I can do more than 3 days yet. BTW I am 76, 5/2 and weigh 120 lbs now.

I am a binger when it comes to pork rinds dipped in sour cream. So I stopped buying pork rinds. Also, I feel fear of fasting because in the past, I definitely went on a binge after the fast. I would rather just incorporate sardines in my daily menu for about 4 days a week. The rest of the days, beef and egg only.

Thanks to tuna in water and cans of sardines I'm satisfied with 1 large can of tuna in a meal setting or 2 cans of sardines in a meal setting , my only drink is refreshing water.

Hi all!! Thank you so much for sharing all that you do ladies!! I am on day 3 of sardines in water with mustard and hot sauce only and have gained 3 lbs :(. I was hoping this would help with weight loss as I have been hard core carnivore since Aug 2023 and only lost 14 lbs - still have 40lbs to goal and things just aren’t happening. I have been in a few support groups such as Maria Emmerich and Dani Conway to get insight on macros and eating according to TDEE and I am SUPER at a loss 😢😢😢

I’m the same. Very little weight loss but I think I have two issues; almost no consistent exercise. Walking irritates my knee and two I’m cheating late at night when I have a couple pieces of chocolate or a carb treat. I’m addicted for sure and I have to say no because one tiny bite leads to another then another. The times I stop that addictive snacking my weight drops. (Please share your thoughts)

I’m 62 and lost really slowly at beginning imo bc I listened to Maria E and her sky high protein and low fat for Psmf days. I felt awful and it was super slow--and slept horribly and leg cramps! until I incorporated a lot more fat. Weight started falling off and slept better. But it’s not forever (high fat for 4 months) bc I’m now gaining back a bit so will reset with sardines! Every body is different. Best to you!

I ate one can in water with a tad bit of mustard today. Straight out of the can. Its 7 pm watching this and I am beyond full from having the can at about 1. I am 5'4" 56 140 at the moment. I made my family dinner [hamburgers] and I didnt even crave it whatsoever. Lol. Amazing how little fishies fill you up! Literally first time I ever even tried them. Wasnt awful. 😅

Dear ladies this video has been very interesting and I can relate to a lot of bad food behaviors that I wasn’t aware of before. I’m relatively new to keto. I want to do this keto challenge ( I thought it was for 3 days) it s for a week? 10 days? Ok… I have a few questions, I hope you don’t mind and that someone can reply to me… - Why must it be only sardines alone? Can I mix them with Shirataki Kojac rice? Or wrap them in an egg white tortilla? Or accompany them with a spinach salad? So frying the sardines is allowed? Or covering them on avocado oil mayo? I understand it’s ok to eat the sardines that come in mustard sauce, and jalapeño sauce, right? Can I drink Apple cider vinegar along with my sardine meals? Thank you kindly. I've done 5 days, going to try for 7. I think 10 might be toooo much lol I've lost 2.5 pounds but the highest I've been able to get my ketones are 1.1. I'm also fasting 20 hours a day so I thought they should be getting higher? I'm having 5 or 6 cans a day in 2 meals though today was just one meal. Still looking for the "feeling fabulous"!

i wonder if i would be beneficial to start out replacing 1 meal a day with sardines. Instead of just jumping right into a sardine challenge. I decided to do just that and so I lightly pan fried some in butter so they were warm and ate them with hot sauce and they were absolutely delish. I was thinking I wouldn't be able to stomach even one can and i've already eaten 2 cans for dinner.

Is it ok to do the challenge to get a jumpstart into carnivore? I last ate at two today and have only drinking water with element and some unsweetened plain tea My goal is carnivore but feel like I need a jumpstart Any advice is appreciated

Mmm, I wouldn’t start carnivore with just eating sardines. I would start with just beef, eggs and butter. Your first 4 weeks are pretty challenging with keto flu and cravings. So going from the beginning with only sardines may not be the best way to start. Your body needs to heal from what you have been eating. I’d heal first then start challenges. Get your body used to burning fat for energy. I’ve been carnivore for 77 days, 2 meals a day. Black coffee with butter in the morning. Beef, Butter, Pork Belly slices (bacons no good for me),Egg yolks (egg whites I cannot tolerate. Lost 7kg and feel amazing.

None of these women look overweight. Do they ever mention their actual starting weights? They only talk about how much they lost. But starting weight or ending weight is important also.

That should be a crime to charge $10-$11 dollars per carnivore bar. I would Never support that and if it causes this many people this much overeating issues than it shouldn’t be eaten anyway. Figure out how to make your own 👍🏻
