The roster looks odd, Sasanian Immortals are royal household cavalry not infantry. Daylamites use Zubin and swords in battle and no evidence indicates Sasanian use crossbow on horseback or foot.

The game looks more dark and well coloured. And about the maps, they seens more variety, have rivers and declives on the terrain...Rome 2 is tha same clean map every battle. I miss this kind of terrain, cause change the tatics on the battle, adds variety, iam right? by the way, this channel is who i like mostely on tw games. Cheers from Brazil!

Nah, they just get off 1 or 2 volleys then you have to press a button for them to regenerate ammo

THFE why don't people just load up on the best infantry / spears and cavs and just rush the opponent? Don't you feel like cheap units and skirmishers don't do enough damage to justify paying for them? I mean you play like a boss but what if you just went full out with brute force without any fodder troops? Would that play to your advantage?
@Stealthy1Ninja
9 жыл бұрын
if its anything like rome 2 you need fodder units for threepurposes, 1. To hold positions because even elite units will go down quickly if they are outflanked, 2. To use up enemy ammunition on cheap units, 3. To take enemy charges thus reducing their effectiveness against elite infantry and causing fights to fall more strongly in your favour
@TAEHSAEN
9 жыл бұрын
Hayden Lewis Thanks for the reply, but I can place elite units on the flanks instead of fodder to protect the flanks even better can't I? Suppose I go with a 100% ELITE infantry and cavalry build (no fodder). 1. I can just tie up the opponent's cavalry with my own and rush my elite units into my opponents. 2. I can easily overwhelm him with sheer number and brute force. His skirmishers and cheap units will go down in seconds which will free up my elite infantry to flank his own elite infantry. 3. By that time I can also free up some infantry and provide reinforcements to my cavalry. 4. Once the enemy infantry is finished, I can take care of all the archers, skirmishers and cavalry that are left running about because they will be no match.

TAEHSAEN Some thoughts: If you're running only elite units, you're going to be routinely outnumbered, both in terms of bodies, and in terms of regiments. Your cavalry will be insufficient in numbers to prevent flank charges on your elite infantry, and your infantry regiments will likely be either in an extremely wide line with minimal depth if you want to have any hope of avoiding an infantry envelopment, leaving them highly vulnerable to a disruption of their formation. It goes without saying that if the enemy can invest your infantry and cavalry, their skirmish troops can initially be used to full potential; javelins hitting your heavy cavalry while they're bogged down, and heavy shot whittling away the hp of your infantry. If you fight the main line first, you'll never catch the light harassment portion of the enemy, and they can use their ammunition to maximum effect. If you chase them, your troops will be tired before they hit the front line. Also, you're relying on your opponent to play exactly the way you want them to. How far across the map can you run your super-heavies before they get exhausted and your general's second wind just can't keep up?
@TAEHSAEN
9 жыл бұрын
Loalrikowki True enough.. Would it change your opinion if the dinarii limit was set to unlimited? That way I wouldn't get outnumbered. So in those cases aren't archers and skirmishers useless?
@Stealthy1Ninja

The Teklas You can be sure that if a new feature like that is ever introduced, they will market the game with it. That's how you know they didn't add anything in terms of MP or MPC over Rome 2. Hopefully there will be more units that feel unique instead of just having a different name and slightly adjusted stats so CA have an excuse to say "Look, 500 different units!". :P

Anyone know how well my laptop will play this? I have a "Intel Core i7-4700MQ with Intel HD Graphics 4600 (2.4 GHz, 6 MB cache, 4 cores)" processor and a "NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M (2 GB DDR3 dedicated)" graphics card with 12GB RAM. I could play Rome 2 at decent graphics, but I fear my processor will struggle with all the background effects (e.g. fire).

Yeah I've finally managed to find the optimum graphics setting which has unit detail on quality and unit size on medium. I have to compromise with the terrain and building quality though as they just eat up my framerate :/ It's a shame because I could run everything on Rome 2 at high

The Western Rome commander obviously doesn't know how to build an army...His infantries are all high armour low attack. He just lacks out put of damage, which cheap Sagittarius won't help.
@luttingdude9415

no, it is that he didn't use his calv and infantry right. he charged his infantry in to a heavy call charge. due to mechanics diffrent from Roma 2 his infantry will get rekt.
