I was in the market for a new mountain boot for technical terrain.
Described as a ground breaking mountain boot, designed for fast moving mountain walking and Via Ferrata. Plus also compatible with C2 crampons with a flex bar.
These boots sounded just right.
I took the plunge and having tried 2 others types that I took back, I picked up a pair from www.ldmountaincentre.com . A little rashly, I decided to do a full on high fell walk the next day. I only saw 1 person over the 13 miles.
Happily the boots were great and I followed this with a table top discussion, going into depth and comparing the rocker in different boots.
what must be taken into account with these boots is that they have a small amount of flex in them, as opposed to the Lasportive Nepals which has none. I omitted this as it is difficult to quantify.

The plane was Wreckage of Vickers Warwick HG136 near Cairn Hill
A Vickers Warwick HG136 crashed in 1946 on boggy moorland of the Cheviot massif between Auchope Cairn and Cairn Hill. Wreckage is spread over a wide area. The plane was part of 280 Squadron based at RAF Thornaby and was on its final flight to Brackla near Nairn NH8652 : Disused Airfield RAF Brackla for scrapping.
The crash was attributed by the authorities to the plane flying an incorrect route instead of following the coastline. It was likely to have been in an air sea rescue role and equipped with two 18-cylinder radial engines either Bristol Centaurus or Pratt and Whitney Double
Sadly three airmen (F/L K F Wyeth, F/O Cody and F/O Chadd) died in the crash which was found by hillwalkers the following day.
I am raising funds to buy an emergency beacon to help keep myself and the youngsters including Scouts I take out safe. Thanks! www.buymeacoffee.com/fellmandave
