This movie was the first film I ever saw Rutger Hauer in that I recognized who he was, possibly the first movie I ever saw him in period. Ever since I saw it, I've loved him as an actor and I also really loved the guy as a person and humanitarian. Ever since I saw his performance in this movie, I got further interested in his filmography. I hope to see more of his films that I have yet to see given I've only seen several. I'm still tracking down a copy of Ladyhawke as I really like the premise. All of that aside, he is truly a class-act and a man who will be forever missed.

Considering he spent a long time with SE asian tribal people (who enjoy, spicy food... you want HOT? Order Thai food "Thai hot" and you'll see...) and his sense of smell was probably as highly developed as his hearing, plus - being a skilled observer of human behavior, I'd say there was a 100 % chance that ol' Nick knew EXACTLY how much and how hot that salsa was going to be. And knew it wouldn't phase him.
