Good video, I think Guitar reviewers should extend way more about describing the neck, how it feels, how thick and wide it is, how it feels the back of the neck, frets, etc etc, because the neck is the most important aspect of the Guitar, the sound clips are just relative, you can always get the same pickups, and the sound can be so manipulated with amps or gear we do not have.... but the neck is everything and I think more info the better, also compare it to other necks etc, so we can relate more... thanks.

Once I composed myself after the heartbreaking chocolate-peanut butter pie story, I realized that the Shredder 3 is a much better deal than the HM re-issue. That one has a the same HSS configuration and a Special on it. The Shredder 3 is $400 cheaper. I'm not a fan of active's but I'd get the Shredder 3 before the new HM. Great playing as always. Thanks for the demo. MK

As much as I was excited when the HR was announced, I agree. Better floyd, better pickups, substantially cheaper (although being made in Japan inflated the cost of the HM).

Iv been on an insane guitar journey the past 6 months. Buying selling trading-up and iv ended with 4 bitchen guitars. 1. Schecter hellraiser hybrid pt 2. Fernandes revolver elite w. sustainer 3. Fender jim r. Telecaster 4. Chavel desolation ds-1 st It really has been an insane journey and you'd all be astonished at what's possible as far as trading and selling goes. I didnt pay anywhere near even average used prices for them. The schecter was new, but i used cash I acquired from buying, selling and trading...and selling some old car audio I wasn't going to use to. Its super addictive behavior, but checking Craigslist/offerUp CONSTANTLY can potentially land you insane deals. Got a jackson with floyd and coffin case for 180. Only wanted the case so I resold the guitar for 200 and kept the case. Randomly got a g400 EPI. sg for 40. Sold it for 150. Bought a schecter reaper-6 for 300 and traded it for the MIJ fernandes revolver elite. Those are crazy rare and worth at least a 1000 and that's if you could find one. The only available add i found was the same guitar! I got the JIM R tele(with tweed case) in a trade for an ltd ec-1000(with fitted hard case) I got for 600. Some1 bought the ltd from the factory then immediately sold it to GC. Super wierd but it was brand new. The case candy hadn't even been touched...and i paid for that with money I got buying and selling guitars... The charvel I got for a 100 cuz it had problems...lol found my new luthier who's practically on call. He rewired the hole thing for 40 halloween night...trogly got scammed with a ukulele and traded/sold his way to a super rare LP worth 2500. Its crazy what's possible! Sry if I sounded douchy I just dont have anyone to tell. All my friends that aren't dead think there nazi's. Lol how great

The look on the faces of people at a Chinese restaurant when all the starving competitors turn up is hilarious. That guitar though - the top is a bit too much for me... I have the 7 string version . I have had for about a year and it's a great guitar . One of my favorites . The pickups , even though being active , witch I'm not a fan of active pickups , but , they sound and respond more like a hot passive pickup . That I'm good with. Not only that , but , the single coils are actually useable in a high gain setting as well . I play on a mesa dual rec , so , normally a single coil would not be an option . These emg retro active singles have given me a new tone on high gain that I can use without a massive amount of noise . I consider that a win in my book and this guitar is one of my go to guitars for almost anything . Great review Max , you will love this guitar the more you play it . R.I.P. to the peanut butter chocolate pie as well . It will be missed , but forever in our hearts . You should really seek some counseling to deal with your loss as I have .

Personally I'd rather pay a few extra bucks and get a sustainiac pickup when I buy a Schecter. If you want to 5 position pickup configuration maybe you should get a fender pick that one up later in the set whenever you need it that's the way I look at it you can't make one guitar be everything and I would rather a shredding Schecter have a Sustainiac pickup to me, That disappoints me when it Doesn't have one. I agree the bridges Floyd Rose need to be solid as a rock I don't even think they should even make guitars with pot metal Floyd Rose Bridges it's the worst and in the end it's a piece of junk maybe if you want to use it for like a year or two but you can't really keep these for a long long time if they don't have a solid as a rock Bridge!

Dated looking guitar for me,that was then,,much cooler to fit big frets and a khaler to a nice tele ,strat ,les paul so it looks classic but plays like a shredder imho, peace.

Not a fan of these burst finishes, they look more like overspray; not much blend to them. Would love a transparent dye color or even a natural finish.

It sounds good and has good hardware. I don't like the flame on the body. It looks very one dimensional and cheap.
