It's impossible to tell what makes a film or tv show work. But sometimes it's clear when something is missing. In this class, we're going over six essential components or qualities you'll find in almost every successful screen story.
Character is not part of these, because it's self-evident. Far more important is the question: what to do with Character? And HOW does (a) Character become critical in a story?
At the heart of the story engine, you'll find two story elements that are repeatable: EVENTS and ACTIONS. To understand these better, be sure to check out our other classes, in particular the ones on story structure and Fractal Structure.
Once you've seen the class, it's easy to remember all six elements using the acronym G-R-E-A-S-E. So watch this class, and grease your own story engine using this method!
