Many many years ( decades) ago there was a cement plant up river from the bridge that had a breach into the river decimating the salmon population. My Dad used to catch salmon in this river almost as long as our picnic table in the early 80’s .

Did you ever dive near Dipper harbour, there is I believe an American war ship from 1812 there.

Yes I have heard of it before! It is a protected historic site as well as a war grave also it was a British ship not American. I think it would be difficult to gain permission to actually dive on the site. The currents in that area are also known to be a hazard. Thanks for the recommendation and I agree it would be a great site for a historic video.

Back in the early 60's, the creek behind the restaurant was full of cans and garbage, they just dumped it down the hill, was pretty commonplace everywhere back then.

Wow I wonder if you could go scuba diving in the miramichi River, would be interesting to see what’s under there. only thing is the visibility is probably poor.

I was just up there this weekend for the first time. The vis near the town and the bridge is actually really similar to the Saint John river. I will be making a trip up to make some videos sometime in the future. Thanks for watching.

It is nice to see how clean the river bottom is at the McKay Highway bridge over the Hammond. The Small Mouth Bass sure appear to enjoy that area. Your drone view showed the old Silver Dollar Restaurant, a place frequented in the 60's. The Hammond River Conservation Centre is a pleasant add to the area. Very popular with the surrounding community. David aka Superdad4sure - A Life Member of the Hammond River Angling Association - Kingston, ON

Lots of fishing lures for sure. I will have to go back when it isn't so busy there. I don't want to get snagged by someone fishing.

I'm quite new to Canadian fish species, but if I'm not mistaken, was that a 20lb snook at 9:53?
@rivervidsyt

I think it was probably a sucker fish maybe a white or long nose. The visibility makes it hard to tell exactly. It was less than 20 lbs. Thanks for watching!

What was that cement base with the piece of wood and the circle sticking out of it?
