This guy made me laugh sooo hard!!! I love it! He gave me so many ideas of what NOT to do, and I think my repair will go much smoother now. Thanks for the video. I may post one of my own.

You can’t learn if you aren’t willing to fail. I learned what not to do as well. Plus you can’t hurt my feelings, I used to hold the flashlight for my Dad.

Curious to know, do you know where the Jack was made? Just picked one up like yours at my local scrap yard. No labels on it!

I am really struggling to figure it out as well. I have ordered several sets of seal sets but nothing is matching up.

@@graybeardgarage9638 I understand these jacks were made in Japan and are top quality. You will not find a kit for these, and everything that says it will work is wrong. The seals have to be purchased individually. I have replaced the rod U-cup seal and the pump piston O-ring so far and now know I have to replace everything. So I have to dimension them and do parts look-up. The U-cup seal is: 9514K151 High-Stability O-Ring-Loaded U-Cup Seal for 0.275" Groove Width, 1.375" ID x 1.625" OD x 0.25" Wide from McMaster-Carr. This is a special U-cup with an O-ring in the U to maintain pressure in critical operations, sch as a jack holding up weight that could squash you. I will give you dimensions on other things if you like also as I go thru mine. I started out just thinking it would be a small job, and found out otherwise, The U-cup rod seal was bad and the only thing I had to go on was a tiny disintegrated piece of it nad (luckily) the loading O-ring which let me know it was a special seal instead of a common seal. I did do stuff like this for a living and I have a degree for it, so don't give up! I am making a lot of mistakes as I work on this too, but for $16 vs over $150 I can live with it.

Pretty sure its a Sears 9-50115 3ton. All o-rings are metric. Plunger o-ring is a 3.5x15x22.(9263K771) I think mine was missing the backup for the o-ring from the factory. The plunger "wiper seal" is hard to identify. 15mm x 22mm ( can find 15x24 units ) As for the cylinder seal, they say there are two versions. A 42mm(v1) and a 40mm(v2), I have not gotten to that point yet, as I have received a kit from supply house that listed their kit for the 9-50115 jack.....WRONG in every part except the cyclinder oil fill plug.(go figure) The wife shook her head, returned home with a 4 ton jack. 😊
