@@paulwilliams8824 The problem with your comment is all you did was criticize. Oh, you're too slow...oh, you blocked the road too long. The road was not heavily travelled, and there was a lane open. He was careful in his towing...which is much better than being fast and making mistakes. Instead of just criticizing, you should have commented on how it could have been done better. That way, Dustin and the viewers could have learned from your "vast" experience.

I give you lots of props for using it as learning experience. I'm an engineer, not a tow truck driver. But from that point of view, the other thing you could have done differently was pulled down the highway a little further, so the angle you were pulling from was more perpendicular to the base of the vehicle. Essentially causing it to roll over cleanly, without sliding along the ground like it did. But as someone else pointed out, it was already trashed anyway, so either way it all worked out. Stay safe out there, my friend.
@deereman2607
Жыл бұрын
I would've just pulled the same direction as the lane of traffic, rolled it over, and then drug the front end around towards the truck. Always easier to control the vehicle if the winch is connected to the front because even if the wheels turn it still pulls towards the truck straight for the most part.
@Towtruck_Dustin
Жыл бұрын
Yeah, given the chance to do it again that’s what I’d do, and it was a thought I had when setting up, I believe I said something like that during the video also. My thought there was trying to roll and load it from what spot, but I knew that would be tricky because of the angle.

Every one has there way of doing things; so long as the casualty is recovered with no additional damage then it’s a good tow. That being said, I never pull a wrecked vehicle up the bed in neutral, just in case, something gears, the cable snaps or anything it doesn’t roll into another vehicle or person. But good job! @Towtruck_Dustin

Not a silly question at all. Personally, I haven’t worked any, nor heard of EV rollovers in my local area. That’s probably mostly because not many people own electric vehicles in the area.
