Hey Christina! I just saw I missed this notification. Girl, those look so delicious...yummy! That was a great caramel experiment and I love that you included the correct temp for dipping. I very rarely see any people who show the "correct" way to dip strawberries include that very important information and that includes chocolate. What a tough job to have to get those strawberries eaten fast before they get mushy. LOL😜Can't wait to see some fun Easter ideas!! Have a wonderful week...Big ((Hugs)) and Love from Texas!!🤗💜🥰💞

I'm so glad they turned out great Kayla! 🍓💕 You can microwave the caramel in 5 second intervals until it reaches the dipping temperature again (I wrote a note at 4:19 in the video if you need to refer to that) I know the caramel contains milk and butter which should be refrigerated but I don't refrigerate this though because it will be very hard to remelt! So I reheat and dip them within a few hours/ the same day
@SugarMagicbyCristina
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Tameia I'm sorry about your experience! ❤️ At what step do you feel you had trouble with the process? The Caramel will turn out too hard/brittle if cooked above 245, however if you at certain you didn't make a mistake with the temperature you can drop it at most to 240. Also You can can microwave the leftover caramel in 5 second intervals until it comes back to dipping temperature- hope that helps!
@nik3mad
2 жыл бұрын
@@SugarMagicbyCristina Yeah I think it may have been the temp on the caramel and it coated so thick. Im going to try it again and lower the temp. I watch a video recently on making caramel chews, the she stated that the thermometer a calculated according to sea level areas so we may reach some unexpected outcomes if you dont. I just wished i hadn't used my "guud butter" Ill try again
@SugarMagicbyCristina
2 жыл бұрын
That information is definitely true! Temperature varies in a certain range depending on sea level where you are located- temperature definitely is everything in this recipe, also when dipping it should be 175-180 to prevent it from being too thick, and a quick dip is all you need so it doesn't coat your berry too much. Hope you try again soon 🤗
@vanessastokkeland7994

Do you raise the temp on the stove when the butter finally melts? Or leave it at medium low heat and wait for it to start boiling
@SugarMagicbyCristina
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Vanessa! I suggest to leave the caramel on the medium low heat, it will start to bubble on it's own, and you chance either burning your caramel or having the pot bubble over. Just try to give it time, unless you don't see the temperature moving on your Candy Thermometer, but overall it takes a little bit of patience and I don't suggest rushing the process 🤗 💕

Can I use the dulce de leche caramel for the strawberry like I did with the caramel apples
@SugarMagicbyCristina
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Lissette! The dulce de leche is a sticky, soft caramel, and won't form a firm enough coating / shell for berries. It will smudge and melt off the strawberries without setting properly, so this chewy caramel recipe should be used specifically for the strawberries - hope that helps 🤗
