"Naši" nisu prikazani dovoljno dobro a "njihovi" nisu dovoljno loše. Nedavno se jedan lik uvrijedio jer sam loše pričao o Staljinu!!!!! 🙃 E sad, neke stvari su možda mogle biti i bolje odrađene s moje strane, što većini promakne a nekima ne.

My first cousin (once removed) flew B-29's in Korea. Said his gunners just couldn't hit the Mig's. They were trained to lead them but couldn't seam to put them down. Personally I imagine they were getting hits but the M2 (.50 Browning) is just not enough gun to put down a Mig-15 with just a couple of hits.
@showtime112

I think the guns on B-29s were set for older fighters, hitting faster jets was a rare achievement. It did happen sometimes, though.
@Elrusoargentino

Soviet veterans said that the MiG could endure up to 50 hits of the 12,7 mm machineguns (0,50") without problems, depending on the place of impact. Most of the MiG kills credited to B-29 gunners did not match actual Soviet or Chinese losses, and I think they were credited because of morale issues, not because the FEAF tp brass sincerely thought the gunners hit something. However, at least two are confirmed, one MiG from 29 GIAP on 6 December 1950 (pilot KIA, I can look for his name if interested), and one damaged with the pilot wounded on the leg, the XO of 18 GIAP, 303 IAD; MiG-15 ace Aleksandr Smorchkov, on 24 October 1951.

Can only try to imagine how much work goes into that Great Historical Video as always.😉This time no music? Love the intro where the F-86 guards the B-29 lovey seen with their contrails. I think the B-29 were only on duty during the Japan-American war and Korea-War never saw them on duty in Europa during WWII please correct me if I am wrong. The Focke-Wulf 190 also called Dora=Gift or Langnase=Longnose was a pretty good german fighter aircraft in terms of performance and armament they were on duty from 1941 till 1945 they build around 19`000. Also really loved the dogfight between the MIG-15 and the F-86 Sabre and the Supermarine Spitfire vs Focke-Wulf 190. 👍👍👍

Thanks for the usual positive comment! As for the music, I couldn't find anything that would fit here. And sometimes, I experiment a little to see how it goes. And I believe B-29s were never operational in the European Theater. I don't know if it is the lack of music or something else, but this video has an extremely tepid reaction from the viewers. Nine out of last ten so far. Only one tutorial behind it. I guess it's not what people want to see.....

As usual, I'll give the perspective from Soviet files, and (so far) known Chinese literature. Levesque claimed that MiG kill on 31 March 1951. On that date Soviets did not suffer any loss. So far, it seems that no Chinese units were active at that time either (they have been active in late January-early February, and would not perform combat sorties again till late September 1951).

@Lance Weyrich In Korea, indeed. During the first year of the Soviet involvement, the Russians (in fact there were other nationalities among their ranks) did 90% or more of the air combat. And even in June-July 1953 they still performed at least 60% of the engagements in the air. But it was not the case in Vietnam. The Russians indeed did serve the SAM batteries during the first engagements in July and August 1965. And there are unofficial mentions about a MiG-21 instructor named Vadim Scherbakov scoring 6 kills in 1966 (I suspect which ones can be credited to him). But that's all. Vietnamese did 99,9% of the air combat and SAM engagements.

An interesting case for your Korean War playlist might be the MiG-15 versus Gloster Meteor F.8. While the Meteor was inferior in most respects, its Australian (77 Squadron) pilots almost broke even with their Soviet, Chinese and NK counterparts. The Australian govt had 77 Sqn abruptly reassigned to close air support duties, apparently because it believed there would be fewer losses. Nevertheless, there were several clashes with MiG-15s afterwards, including at least one shoot down.

Actually, there was no air-to-air combat that took place in the conflict between Croatia and Serbia. With the exception of Serbian side shooting down an EU Monitor Mission helicopter in 1992. MiG-21s (and also Mi-24 helicopters) were used extensively in the final phase of the war by Croatia for interdiction and close air support.

Kind of. It's a mod but it has some problems. Unless you set them on 'ignore threat' and 'weapons hold', when an enemy fighter approaches, they start pulling 50 degree climbs at such a rate that MiG-15 can hardly keep up.
