I'm a 67 year old woman. In my day, I was a party until you puke, headbanger. I started listening to grunge this past summer. AIC, Pearl Jam, Incubus, etc. KZitem suggested Seether. I've been listening to them ever since. Yes, I might be 20 years late and a dollar short, but I am loving their music. Seether is at the top of my playlist. I listen to them everyday. I don't feel depressed from their music. But I sure feel something.

This is not the music that makes you depressed. It’s the music that makes you understand you have depression. Once you understand the darkness and know it’s going to be your little friend for a while you learn to cope and accept it. Later it becomes a part of you, it hardens your armour and builds you stronger. It may darken your heart though you learn to move past it with some positivity. People wonder why your so hard when it comes to painful things and why you joke about it. Truth is what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Some people are built out of tougher rock. Some people will never understand this darkness and it will never be part of their lives so how could they ever understand.
