This video is about market gardening in Southeast Alaska, including noticing that one chest freezer converted to a refrigerator is no longer working and having to consolidate harvest storage into a single fridge; eyeballing lettuce and greens in the garden to decide if there is enough to start regular sales for the season and deciding to wait on harvesting lettuce for customers but harvest instead from a bed of baby spinach & mizuna and then Jang-seeding that half-bed with more spinach and mizuna; also harvesting orach from the greenhouse to add to the baby greens mix, then also cutting kale and collard greens for the first time; starting a fifth succession of salanova lettuce and a second succession of basil; noting that crane fly are still emerging from the bed of salanova lettuce, but not from the beds of greens; replacing bigger hoops and row cover over the greens, which are outgrowing the smaller hoops; transplanting a late third succession of salanova lettuce into the garden plus some extras that were potted up from previous batches; selling at the garden for the first time this spring to start the regular weekly sales for the season; hand-weeding and hoeing three beds of very weedy carrots; and seeing two newborn deer.
