This video is about market gardening in Southeast Alaska, including harvesting spinach to add into the lettuce mix and harvesting Salanova lettuce from the greenhouse as backup for lettuce in the garden that is not ready after starts grew poorly and were transplanted late, afterwards transplanting the the fifth succession of lettuce into the garden while the sixth succession moved from the greenhouse table to outdoors in preparation for transplanting it next week; moving the second succession of basil from under lights at the house onto the greenhouse table; managing three beds of greens by cutting back microclover that grew taller than expected and removing overgrown weeds and putting down bin boards to capture slugs; harvesting kale, collards, and also a few bunches of mustard greens that are starting to bolt to seed; harvesting green onions to sell for the first time this season plus the first clippings from the pots of mint, and harvesting for personal use the first bunch of garlic scapes that will be ready to sell next week; noting that orach seeded at the greenhouse bed ends last week is germinating and one pansy is flowering and sugar snap peas in the garden are forming on the vines; taking a look at the growth of herbs in the garden including parsley and dill plus cutting back bolting cilantro; introducing the new chest freezer converted to a refrigerator that joins the existing two fridges used for storing harvested produce; receiving only a small number of orders through online platform sales during a sunny Thursday, but receiving enough last-minute orders while selling at the garden on Friday.
