beautiful eh ? at least India takes pride in its history and has not demolished its beautiful old ancient buildings. lets hope it stays that way.

This was the beginning of Chinas transformation…I think they changed when Hong Kong returned back from Britaiin 1999….Hong Kong was way more modern than Beijing or Shanghai back then…focus then was to modernise everything before the 2008 Olympics…show the world a modern China…

i was there in 94, 95 and 99. there was changes but nothing that drastic. i think mid 2000s is when the big changes took place. now the old shanghai is but a distant memory.
The streets of China in 2000 are close to those of Japan in 1970. I am in my twenties and do not know the experience of the rapid development of urban infrastructure. I want to see. Unlike Japan, I feel a lively and powerful atmosphere !

This is so strange! I remember when I was a little kid (2006-2013) Shanghai was just like any other Chinese city not that different, now I go back to Shanghai, it seems somehow unfamiliarly European, chic minimalistic designs you see in Tokyo are everywhere, but lack of livelihood. how strange, it's like the world has completely changed in 10 years.

@@agrajyadav2951 Not postponing. China opened it's economy in 1978. India started in 1992. Already a gap of 15 years. Then you have covid, which pushed back the development by 3 years. Third china speed was faster by 3-4%. If you have account all these things india development journey was always around 2045.

@@adi7yak yea because China's GDP was around 2.5 trillion dollars that time. India's GDP is 3.5 trillion dollars now. China looks the same when it had almost equal GDP as of India . It's a sign that , as Indian grows faster, things will change. In modern times, india can grow even faster than China and India will look completely different in next15 yrs. Only the politics can stop it's developmemt.

It's absolutely astonishing to see how China has changed a lot since the beginning of 21st century, at that time China was still considered as poor country until around 2007 when things started to change rapidly and Shanghai had become one of the global financial and trade centres with the highest developed infrastructure in the world

Ur comment is really underrated. On the name of secularism, freedom of speech n expression, reservation people do anything.there can be many who can feel jealous of China's development n many who can feel motivated .we people should analyze n realize our past or present mistakes for the better present. 'We will do' is not the phrase we should use,its 'WE R DOing'.Govts r not responsible for everything.
