Agreed on the Bassman. My favorite amp of all. OMG, and the Bogner oversized 2x12 cab with it was my ultimate combo. What a coincidence.

I’ve got an early Morgan Tweed 20 that I love. I heard him talk about how the inspiration for came from a player who asked for its specs. Now that I know that was you behind this beautiful little beast, I love it even more! Cheers.

FWIW: The original ‘61 6G6 Blonde Bassman was tube rectified (I have one) and came with the 1x12 “Tonering” cabinet. The 6G6-A was the same circuitry with a solid state rectifier, which turned out to be a poor pairing. The 6G6-B circuitry was modified to play nicer with the SS rectifier. The B is a workhorse and sounds great, but I prefer the tone of the original tube rectified version.

I was stunned/thrilled to see the HX Effects on your board. I use one as well - love it, so flexible, has control abilities (midi, etc), takes up a bit of space, but can handle up to 9 effects/routing options - and that is one positive trade-off. Just found your channel, love your playing and insights.

It's an Eico signal tracer with a "cat's-eye" display. I had and used one exactly like that in my dad's TV repair shop to troubleshoot problems in radios, audio problems in TV's, record players, stereos, etc., in south Knoxville. Wonder what ever happened to it? Maybe that's it? It turns out pretty much all audio amplifiers from these days (including Fender et al guitar amps) pretty much used the amplifier schematics found in the back of RCA tube manuals.

Greco's are awesome IMO/E. I have an ES-175 copy. FA-95 I think. Real nice. Glad to hear someone else is not a V30 fan. I tried 'em but no likely. I stumbled onto a great deal on a 1987 with GT-75s. Really I got paid to take it in a trade. Tried GT-75s in the past and they were always too shrill for me but the ones in this cab are awesome. Maybe it is the cab or the age of the whole deal. BTW you did a video I think with Brett and you mentioned the HX FX. I pulled the trigger after that it was well worth it for my setup. Your videos are great and thanks for doing them. Haha…I must have picked up my TTE around the same time as you, cause mine was about $750 with extra tapes and the cleaning kit, etc. Funny thing is I wasn’t really looking for one, but when I saw that price I just had to jump on it! Thanks for the rig run down…lots of awesome amps and some quirky guitars thrown in as well. Was surprised not to see any of the standard Tele/strat/LP/335 stuff in the box. But hey, after that rubber bridge Stella video I’m starting to be drawn to the weirder side of the 6 string world. Keep evangelizing us on cool outside the box stuff 👍

Super jealous of your Bassman. Also, my Invader 50 arrived in the mail today. I just got done with the test run, in fact. I really enjoyed it even without any break-in. Got some great mid/late 60's british tones. Thick but still bright with a fairly open top end. I just got a Zilla super fatboy 2x12, and I'm waiting on a couple of ceramic Weber Silver Bells that I'm hoping I'll love. Now I kind of want to try a couple of WGS green berets in it.

can we talk about amp/cab switching? how do you audition different combinations? do you have to pull and repatch cables, or is there some kind of switching system? If so, how do you handle ground problems and impedance matching? Is there an option for the engineer to take the amps direct through an Ox Box or something? also, are your time based FX pre or post amplifier? If post, do you have them in some kind of loop? Thanks in advance, big fan here, I follow your channel and learn from it. PS: John B is at Tootsie's nearly every weekend. :-)
