Sewing for Beginners Lesson 9: Adjusting Bobbin Thread Tension on a Sewing Machine | Beginner's Guide to Sewing Clothes | Learn to Sew | Sewing | Sewing Machine | Threading a Sewing Machine | Sewing Techniques
Do you often encounter messy stitches and bubbling while sewing? Let's fix it today!
Three common stitch problems:
1️⃣ Top thread loops, bobbin thread bubbles: Top thread tension is too loose! Increase the number on the tension dial, usually around 4, adjust the specific value according to the fabric thickness.
2️⃣ Top thread bubbles, bobbin thread loops: Bobbin thread tension is too loose! Remove the bobbin case, locate the small screw on the side, turn it clockwise to tighten, counterclockwise to loosen, with a half-turn as a reference.
3️⃣ Fabric puckering after sewing: Both top and bobbin thread tensions are too tight! Loosen them both, adjust the top thread tension dial first, if the puckering disappears, no need to adjust the bobbin thread.
✨ Tips for perfect stitches:
Sew with different colored top and bobbin threads, check that no bubbles are visible on both sides. The correct stitch intersection should be located in the middle of the fabric layers.
