@@steadychaosproductions3376 I just had my 65” C2 installed today by Best Buy. The installation went well and they were able to use my existing mount instead of me paying $350 for another expensive Sanus mount. However, after booting up the TV and going through the setup and then getting to the home screen, I am underwhelmed by a gross margin overall. I mean, the picture quality of the apps and what not is not stunning nor sharp and it appears muddled. There were no fireworks. I get my cable TV through Xfinity so I immediately downloaded the Xfinity stream Beta app and that too was quite horrible. The quality of my local channels seemed 480p and full of artifacts. I get better picture quality from the Xfinity Beta app on my Roku Ultra that is hooked up to a 7 year old 4k TV. The funny thing is that with the new LG C2, you can skip through the commercials but on the Roku Ultra you cannot. I’m sure that gaming on a PS5 is stunning though but I haven’t gotten there yet.

Great video, but I would try doing another comparison because I’m a professional calibrator by trade, and some of the findings. I had were actually very different. I did the same comparison with both of the same televisions. I found the LG C2 was actually crashing shadow detail. pretty bad. Are you running the latest firmware update for the C2? If so, which one are you running? I only did the calibration comparison after the latest firmware update. However, I probably should’ve done it before the firmware update, and then after the firmware update to see if it’s a firmware related issue. However, I probably would change the picture preset mode on both of them too. ISF dark mode and the only thing I would change is the Gamma to two. Two on both of them. Ask her HDR told nothing I would disable it on both and let the TV do it itself.. Faster peak brightness, you can keep that on high on both also. Try the comparison again side-by-side and see if it’s this dramatic apart from each other like this video. Maybe there will not be much of a substantial brightness difference, especially with highlights. I do have another C2 coming in in case. the one I do have is faulty but this is the findings I found. This time I will test before the latest firmware update. I attached a video link below. There’s another simple awesome test pattern to check how it’s holding up with shadow detail and seeing all gradients going all the way up. Let me know if you’re able to run it on both, and see if they are flashing at its lowest point the same if you’re missing a few rows then that perhaps television is crashing shadow detail and it’s going to dark. You should be able to see 16 or 17 being the lowest reference still flashing barely but you should be able to see it. if you only see like for example 18-19 and up and then it’s too dark. I’m curious to know your findings. as I feel. It would be a very different image results at the end. Great video again boss 👍 kzitem.info/news/bejne/mZhpqYmjcZxld3o

i thought about using that test pattern in this video, but never got around to it. I'll have to try the pattern side by side with both tvs. I will say though, my C2 has consistently better near black performance than my C1. As some have stated in this comment section, calibration would likely help bring the C1 closer to the C2's near black performance, but its unlikely it would match it completely.

think so? I'm not seeing it. C2 looks superior to me here in every way. EDIT: In some instances, it does appear the C1 has slightly darker, more saturated color, but I wonder if that's because the C1's near black performance is so much darker, lending the appearance of more saturation. When measured, both TVs have 99% P3 color gamut and similar color volume due to their similar - tho not same - light level output. It just seems like the C1's gamma tracking is slightly off near black.

@steadychaosproductions3376
2 жыл бұрын
i don't know for certain what panel type i have, but ive noticed no tinting (pink or otherwise, so im thinking I have WBC. And no, by and large, there wouldn't be any picture quality differences between WBC and WBE at 42-48 inches. But, WBE are likely more resistant to burn in due to their deuterium based nature. At 55" and up, WBE do make a difference - the panels are brighter than WBC.

Hey Steady. I just bought a 2Tb Western Digital Black SSD for the PlayStation 5 but I don’t have a console yet. I’m waiting to get one from Best Buy. This was a reason I returned my C1 for a Sony. LG gets a lot of things right, especially with gaming, but their video processor can't hold a candle (Pun intended) to Panasonic and Sony in shadow detail.
