Fantastic tutorial. I know it is an old video but it was very helpful. If there is any chance of you seeing this, I was curious if you ever run into an issue where one axis moves more than the other and you have to calibrate the steppers. Like, you want to cut out a circle, but you get an egg instead. How would you go about correcting that?

I am using bCNC to run a plasma cutter. I am using a floating head micro switch system to do probing. Instead of using the probe button I made a macro using the G38.1 command. I would be happy to tell you more if you think it might help you.

Thanks for this overview. I'm currently using UGS, but am interested in other gcode senders that support touch probe. the work cordinates make more sense in your video than others. I look forward to seeing your progress with the touch probe. I have one, but have not used it yet. Still using the paper method.

I use my probe in ugs every cut now. I must have not started using it yet when I commented on this video.

Tip: Use the arrow and page up/down keyboard keys instead of the mouse to jog. Much easier when focusing your attention on the bit.

I'm using gcode sender with no problem. but i'd like to try BCNC. the problem is that it's not easy to install it. Do i need to learn python to use it? I installed python with no issues, but then I'm having hard time installing pyserial. the file has an extension .whl . never heard of such extension and have no clue what to do with it. any suggestion for what should i do? and btw, when I click on the .bat file, nothing happen.

Very true, and all the tutorials on bCNC I have watched already have it installed.

this would be a lot more effective if you did a screen capture instead of having the camera at some odd angle making it hard to see the screen

I'm trying to use bCNC on my Shapeoko 3 XL but I obviously have something wrong with my configuration. It doesn't seem to matter what I do (other than a simple Home) the machine just races off until it runs into the end of one or both axis. Can you share your .bcnc file so I can compare it with mine?

Better microphone with more volume would help greatly. Also you are very hard to follow.

Hello, I have a question and problem to reset the command HOMING, when I start it is with negative values ex: 800-600-x and y, so when sending the file he travels all over the area and shows the HARD LIMIT message and crashes. It also occurs when reverse the position of the HOMING on the table.
